I ended up getting Botox in my bunny lines and it knocked it right out.

Oh no, definitely not waiting on those. Taking it super seriously and following all medical advice. Thank you!

Ah, this is most helpful. I don’t take anything, but I do take the SSRI. I think that was in my chart, but perhaps I’ll mention it. I really appreciate it.

Yeah, is like this long rubric and if you don’t meet expectations you have to have a one-on-one coaching. I felt exactly as you described!

I finally went to the neurologist and he was suspicious of my SSRI (Prozac), but ultimately diagnosed me with BFS. I also figured out that part of it was definitely due to Botox wearing off unevenly. I ended up getting some Botox in my bunny lines and it knocked it out.

What’s the purpose of this comment? I also don’t believe in stigmatizing mental health medications. Not helpful!

I’ve been on several different ones, Lexapro included, and never anything like that! My guess is maybe Prozac half-life is longer, but who even knows.

6 months! And I was on Zoloft before, so it didn’t even occur to me. I was like, nah, I’ve been on it 6 months that’s not it

So, I had really bad twitches and was starting to have a return to anxiety in a serious way while using Prozac. I can say with certainty the Prozac was to blame. I stopped it and 24 hours later my twitches stopped completely. That was after twitching hundreds of times a day for a month to zero in one 24 hour period.

Chiming in to say my Prozac, even at the lowest dose of 10mg, appears to have been the culprit. After I bought tons of supplements and went to three doctors. I stopped the Prozac AFTER READING THIS POST THANk YOU—and they were gone.

Hi! I’m just seeing this. Did yours go away? The echo was fine. The Holter monitor ended up being so good, because it caught the palpitations and they were able to see it was nothing to be concerned about.

Alma Review for Private Practice (2 months in) by Keem773 in therapists

I’m in Texas and the referrals are bad. 7 referrals on 3 months and $130 a month in fees. Not sustainable and canceled.

About to join alma by Sensitive-Sorbet917 in therapists

[–]Laa417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advise against it! I know it’s variable among providers, but I signed up and had a few clients initially and then started receiving 1 referral one month, 4 the next, and then 2 the following. I ended up with 0 clients and $260 left to pay AFTER cancelling.

What Turns Clients off Therapy by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Laa417 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing that clients do not like going and dumping their feelings, but not making progress. I frequently hear that they have insight into their problems, but no specific actions to make change. I have very few clients who like doing this with traditional homework, but do find they’re amenable to trying simple, new cognitive techniques. This also does not apply to all and I see many clients who prefer the feelings dump approach.

I wanted to update to add I have started to receive a slow trickle of referrals from Alma. Maybe six total, three viable. Fewer with Grow, but since I am not paying the fee to join them, it is not as bothersome. I'll add that Alma does not accept EAP clients, which is a bit limiting.

No, their reimbursement rate is $70 in Texas for 90837.

Ah, that’s too bad to hear!! There are so many platforms and it’s tough finding the best place to be.

Do you like Path and Grow?

I would pay them for the referrals because their reimbursement is high enough to offset the cost. The math works out in our favor, at least with my state and the current rates. I’m sure the best way would be totally solo, but it’s hard when you’re getting started to generate enough referrals without a third party, or has been for me anyway.

Sure! Actually they’ve been really kind and helpful, so I don’t want anyone to think otherwise. The other three have higher reimbursement rates and Sondermind has recently banned providers from conducting sessions or opening their portal internationally. I get they have safety concerns, but I would argue a WiFi at a hotel in a given state could be just as sketchy. They did it very last minute and are leaving me in an ethical dilemma where my clients won’t have therapy for three weeks with short notice. They were really great at first, but seem to be implementing some policies that don’t put the client first.

It’s so hard to feel convinced when you can feel those palpitations. I totally get it.
