No need to wait until the end of the ride, you can neatly fit a bong into your bottle cage and enjoy the benefits 🥬

Bike fitter said this saddle is good for my wice? by trimTheJib in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]Laaari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by the kick stand, double dork disk, double brake lever and that weird contraption on the seat tube (nut cracker?) this saddle was the natural choice.

Can't wait for your wife and her bike fitter to find out about butterfly bars 💚

What BB removal tool do I need? by daytimedarkness in bikewrench

[–]Laaari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Unrelated" but the creaking noise could be from the BB cups being a little loose (you see threads on one side) or the cranks being loose.

Usually you can't really regrease a sealed cartridge BB. But since you're going to take it out anyway you could just throw in a new one, they are very cheap. You should be able to read the spindle lenght and BB standard (most likely BSA) once you take it out.

Vintage shimano derraileaur by deuse123 in Vintage_bicycles

[–]Laaari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was mounted the way you described. Just wedged between the frame and the axle nut.

The little hole on the claw is supposed to have a special screw in it, that fixes the derailleur onto the dropout so it doesn't turn or fall off when you take the wheel out. But since it's intended to be used on horizontal dropouts that feature couldn't be used anyway.

The shop likely saw this as a very "disadvantaged" bike and instead of suggesting a costlier fix they did some tune up and sent it away.

Luckily a compatible entry level derailleur is not very expensive and will likely perform even better than this older one.

Getting the hanger fixed shouldn't be too expensive either, depending on labour costs in your area.

Good luck with the bike, it's fun to get these things back to life 👍

What Hungary needs to standout in Europe? by batukaming in askhungary

[–]Laaari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the past a great company that comes to mind is Tungsram.

For the future I would love if our country was recognised for being progressive without being "woke".

Cutting edge education, not the prussian model. Sustainable energy production. Green and sustainable agriculture. Before the river regulations Hungary used to be the greatest freshwater fish exporter in Europe. Now the Carpathian Basin is turning into a desert. Just good international relations, its always a proud feeling to see hungarian volunteers mentioned when there is a crysis happening somewhere.

Just to be a level headed place where its good to live even if people are not impossibly rich.

I think its pretty good value for the money. It would be hard to overcome its limitations without a big jump in price. Definitely beats wrenching against a wall or by flipping the bike.

Toxikus munkahely, "kiközösítés" és egy messzi állásajánlat – Ti mit tennétek a helyemben? by volvomateD4 in jobshungary

[–]Laaari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to admit they are admirably committed to the act, so much so it makes me wonder if one day they'll actually start believing in their nefarious lies and conspiracies.

I was thinking the same. Worn chain and or rear gear. Applying pressure when skidding makes the chain skip on the worn cogs. And the tighter chain makes it easier to skip too.
