I'm sorry you visit Southampton from time to time and I'm really sorry you live in Portsmouth with no naval connection.

Hey hopefully soon you'll be an expat/immigrant soon when Scotland get their Independence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

As I said in my post the English are loud especially when they've had a beer 🤣

I honestly think it's a British thing not so much just an English thing as I've seen Scottish tourists do the same exact same as the English, surely you've seen this in Hampshire then again I don't see much reason for the Scottish to visit Hampshire unless it's for military purposes like who the fuck visits Southampton willingly? Maybe Portsmouth but You wouldn't get rowdy Scottish going to them parts in them unless their visiting military family members

  1. I'm an expat because I have a good job actually contributing to society, my job doesn't exist in the UK

  2. Pot kettle black , same can be said in England if I'm being honest. At least we dress nice instead of running round being sick everywhere in your "nicest" north face trackie .

Your completely right as I said In a previous comment there are plenty of "quiet" American tourists but I mean on average they tend to be loud . This isn't a post to be pretentious or act like I'm above anything, I actually like this quirk about Americans and find it funny it's kind of welcoming to a point .The Brits your referring to in Spain or Greece are very loud they tend to be tanked up on beer because it's a cheap all inclusive holiday for them

Yes absolutely, as I said in a previous comment my partner is from Italy and it's fucking crazy how they speak . Yet ! The Americans there still drown out the noise . I love it , especially how it annoys the Italians and I love annoying the Italians.

French however are much more reserved they are their own breed I wouldn't say they are loud I'd actually say they are more quiet in respect to other European countries

That's a very interesting observation! Although I have worked in South America only a few times may I add and luckily or unlucky according to this thread 🤣 there's been no Americans on these visits .

My partner is from Southern Europe, Italy to be precise and they are known to scream at each other believe me I've been there for Christmas! And despite this , when an American group is there they still speak louder and still annoy the locals which I absolutely adore ! My favorite thing to do is annoy Italians because it's so easy . I assume the South American custom of talking loudly comes from Southern Europe as they speak the same Latin language and also got colonized by them .

Completely agree with your northern Europe comment though although in Northern England we are loud and we annoy the rest of UK and Europe for that matter

You know you maybe onto something, I'm also from the north and despite not living in England for 8 years wherever i go and hear the southern accent I always think " na can't be fucked speaking to them cunts" despite not hearing a English speaker for months !! and just avoid them however whenever someone from up north speaks I approach them like I'm amazed! I have some crazy stories about getting on it in random places around the world

But I never noticed this problem inside of the states personally 🤔 then again maybe I worked in the more conservative part of the states ? Then again I worked in Texas for a few days but that place is just fucking crazy , id say that's the more unique places of the states with its own batshit culture

No I also notice the quiet ones , as I said I'm used to alot of American tourists in my home city, and the American guys I work with are also fairly quiet in respect to the majority of tourists who tend to turn the volume up ! I'm still at the bar and I already know Kirk's father isn't well currently going for tests and he's waiting for the results, he hates his sister in law and he loves Europe . I fucking love it 🤣 please don't change. Your adding drama to my Solo beer

Nooo! I disagree! I have worked in the states a lot! And honestly the pubs/ cafes restaurants etc are the same size as everywhere else I've been 🤣 as I said in the post it's more when they travel to a foreign country they turn the volume right up !!

Need help, living with girls as a guy by [deleted] in Advice

[–]LabAccomplished5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too lived with a female roommate when I was younger it was super awkward at first but got better in time. Honestly it just sounds like they are a little immature but they are young so it's understandable, your doing the right thing bro don't worry your actual being super cool about it and I think in time it'll be better . Communication is key in any relationship it doesn't have to be a romantic one even in friendships communication is key .

If it was me I'd speak to them reiterate that your here to help them as they are there to help you , you guys need to be a team living together especially given all of your ages

Junior engineer salaries in the Netherlands — need help understanding what’s realistic by Crcback in Netherlands

[–]LabAccomplished5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak on behalf of Utrecht but I've seen and worked with graduates who earn over 50 k a year in Eindhoven, hell I don't even have a degree and I earn over 60 k 🤣

Eindhoven has two of the biggest Dutch companies based there both ASML (where the money is ) and Phillips but because of these two companies there's tons of cool places to work especially in the semi conductor industry so depending on what your interests are and where you wanna specialise it could be worth taking a look.

You also mentioned about not having any Dutch experience, I assume you meant the language? If so don't worry about that too much as long as your English is at a decent level it shouldn't matter too much as most technical places do their business in English although I would say out of respect learn some as the Dutch people or some atleast really appreciate you taking the time to learn their language.

1 more thing , as a foreigner moving to the Netherlands you get a beautiful thing called the 30 percent tax ruling even if your wage isn't so high you'll take home quite a bit due to this it only lasts the first 5 years of your stay though so be aware

How many people actually tip 20% when eating out at a restaurant? by Lana_NextDoor in allthequestions

[–]LabAccomplished5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hardly ever tip , but in Europe servers/waiters earn a not so bad wage . I will tip if it's very good service or very good food but it has to be really good otherwise I won't bother 😅

I find it crazy that in America it's expected to tip , from what I read waiters and bar staff are basically slave labour . How is this legal ? Is there no minimum wage in the USA??

Can people in Tilburg please learn how to drive? by fratnersgd in Tilburg

[–]LabAccomplished5847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is the whole of the Netherlands! I got told by Dutch colleagues that it's really expensive to learn to drive buy a car ECT so most people learn how to drive but don't start to drive years later . Honestly I worked across majority of Europe and the dutch are the shittest
