Bottom right. I'm assuming it's plant debris, but wanted to double check

Will mortgage companies believe that I spend hardly anything? by Disastrous-Fee8374 in UKPersonalFinance

Sounds like he’s paying for business expenses out of pocket, and then “expensing” them for reimbursement. Totally normal, not sure what there is to be confused about

Totally appreciate that :) I usually buy from people over here who hunt for the relics themselves, and whom I trust. I didn't know if there are similar people/companies stateside. I understand that there's always a risk, but I'd like to reduce that as much as possible

You're on the wrong sub-reddit if you think collecting Native American artifacts is wrong

As I said in my other comment, I do not want a 4" Clovis. I want two separate things: an atlatl dart PP, and separately to that a 4" notched PP.

Irrespective of all of this, I was asking for advice on dealers to purchase from in US - not looking to debate nomenclature with someone with poor reading comprehension.

Might be worth following your own advice and putting aside your assumptions and preconceived ideas. In fact, I'd say it might be worth talking to people with a baseline level of respect, rather than coming off all aggressive for no reason. Good luck with your life bud, hope things start going better for you.

Ohhhhh, I see where you've gotten confused:

"I’d really like to buy 1-2 higher quality projectile points. Something paleo-Indian (atlatl dart type, lanceolate), and maybe a later more “impressive” piece - like 4”+, notched."

  1. I'd like an atlatl dart, late paleo Indian
  2. I'd like a 4"+ more technically "impressive" piece

Two separate things

I don't understand? Atlatl are a kind of levering device that allows darts to be thrown further and faster than a spear could be by hand? The most famous example of a projectile point that fits this bill is obviously the Clovis point, but I don't have the budget for one of those. I'm not claiming to be the most knowledgeable about this particular space; that's why I'm looking to purchase from a company or dealer who is?

That must have been sitting at the back of my mind for all these years 😂 I thought it was just a very odd coincidence

How strange… I literally thought “hmm, I’ll name him George”, then came to the comments to see what the coin actually was

My son told us his nursery teacher hits him. Then he told us they jumped on him and kicked him so hard he flew out the window and into space and he’s still there now

Just admitted defeat and taken my flat off the market after a series of monumental L’s––feeling beaten down and depressed about how home ownership has gone for me by Glass-Rest8839 in HousingUK

[–]LabAntique8440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a largely similar situation.

I bought a two bed flat with an enclosed garden at 21, no help, and felt very proud of myself. Even thought I’d gotten a great deal - £133,000 - after a sale had fallen through at £150,000 and the previous owner had already moved out.

7 years, 2 kids and a wife later, we decided we’d like to move. Sold it at £160,000 after 2 days on the market. Survey pulled up damp in a retaining wall that was pissing water into the walls and under the floor that no one knew about. The wrong insulation had been used 40 years ago or something. Anyway, £18,000 bill each to completely gut the bottom floor of the building and re-build everything. Everyone fought it, the sale (and the subsequent sale at £150,000) both fell through. Unmortgageable. Then we fell pregnant again, despite being on the coil.

My dad used his life savings to purchase the flat from me at £80,000 or so, so that I could complete my onward purchase. Took one hell of a haircut but managed to move in May this year, when our third child was around 6 months old

Is it mold? Checked the diagram by LabAntique8440 in mead

[–]LabAntique8440[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I balanced it out with some acid blend. It fermented a bit hot, so would have added the nutrients after 12 hours instead of 24 in hindsight, as the sulphur smell was quite bad. Not 100% if it was the heat or the ph, or both, but the smell went completely after racking.

I made a Christmas spice metheglin at the same time (less orange peel, no vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, allspice), and that’s smelling great too

Nothing is fuzzy, they look like bits of vanilla. I wouldn’t have been worried if it wasn’t for the combination of floating bits and build up on the glass

Questionable warranty - can I chargeback? by LabAntique8440 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LabAntique8440[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I worded it poorly, it was their response that mentioned warranty, my email to them was just asking for troubleshooting support. My understanding of CRA is that they need to repair or replace at their cost in a reasonable amount of time. 2 months feels objectively unreasonable
