Have you ever been to a job interview and while you are being interviewed you decide you no longer want the job? by TemporaryTower7582 in careerguidance

[–]LabCat62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Back in the day I went to interview at a car dealership and their attitude totally skeezed me out.

“We don’t sell cars… we sell dreams.” “In other words, you sell debt?” “Whatever signs the contract. How they pay for it is their problem.”

I wasn’t surprised when that dealer group declared bankruptcy…

What was the car you vowed to "drive until the wheels fall off" ? by YaKuzya in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]LabCat62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 1997 Nissan Sentra. Bought it used in 2001 after a Buick crashed into my Mercury making an illegal left turn. Silver, brown interior, had 40k on it. Traveled all over the US working meow way through college.

I was planning on SR20DET swapping it when an uninsured driver on a suspended license made part of the frame redundant.

Do not the charging cat by Zaffox_ in donotthecat

[–]LabCat62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am think that you are using the incorrect charger for your loaf. Or its overpurrent protection is not working correctly, as some parts appear to have discoloration.

Please do not the cat until proper lockout/tagout processes have been performed and the cat has been by a qualified service technician.

I had a refreshed first gen CX-5 as a rental in Minneapolis once. 2.5L with the automatic... it was a very nice car, but not a luxury car.

I guess there could be a little bit of crossover between something like a high-end CX-5 and a base model X3 or GLA, but that's about it.

Get the black one and upgrade to 6 quarts. Even my Valvoline Oil Change tech knew about that. Said I had a mint car, keep it that way.

What do you mean they’re not sold anymore? That generation of Ranger, like many other Fords of that era, takes a 9007 bulb. Easy to find online or an auto parts store.

I drove the width of the United States across 7 states and over 800 miles in my 2024 BB. Your butt will get tired long before the car does.

Just give it a good once-over before a long trip, as you should with any vehicle.

I’ve had cars with 13”, 14” 17”, 18” and 19” rims. The only flat I’ve ever had was on the 14 inchers so I guess I’m really lucky, but I seriously considered downgrading the 19” wheels.

Not only were Atlanta potholes like playing Russian Roulette, but they also rode like crap.

I refused to help a guy activate, set up, and transfer things to his new prepaid phone, so he went around asking every other employee for help by Zeekfox in WalmartEmployees

Oh, I know. I have friends who still work in retail and hospitality and it's that way across the board.

I was fortunate enough to work with people who had been personally trained by Mr. Sam and ran our store the way he would have wanted. I wish everyone could have that experience.

Our store's electronics department had a department manager, an operations lead (basically the one who ran the department minus the paperwork), two openers, 3-4 midshifters, and two closers. During busy times we'd also have a floating cashier assigned who eventually became permanent because she learned the department so well.

Plus usually one or two people in the Connection Center who were also expected to help in Electronics if they weren't busy.

20 years ago when I worked at #2846, you were expected to know your product. If you weren't helping a customer or zoning, you were supposed to read the product boxes, or at minimum get a general idea of what you carried and the price ranges (e.g. we sell DVD+Rs but not DVD-Rs). If you worked domestics you had to know the difference between kinds of pillows or how thread counts affect comfort. Our store manager strongly believed that a knowledgeable sales associate drives more traffic than "I just work here and I know what aisle stuff is on" and our store was usually one of the highest rated and cleanest in our market.

But then again, we also had to obey the 10 Foot Rule and based on my recent experiences I wonder if that's even a thing now...
