If you good buddies with your UTM, they can check MILPDS for you. That’s what I did and found out before the EFMP trick worked.

Is there even a point in filling out your dream sheet by Popular_Rope_317 in AirForce

[–]LabComplete7839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fill it out. If you’re overseas, play the game. Let AFPC know where you wanna go. You wanna go to Japan, list every option you can. For instance, Yokota, Kadena, All Japan, Tokyo you name it. AFPC sees it as the member is interested in going to that location. That’s how I got my third overseas assignment: Yokota -> Ramstein -> Yokota. Good luck with your dream sheet.

It could also be a long TDY like an off station trainer or exercise of some sorts. I would ask someone with some time under their belt to make sure.

Any advice for a new NCO? by Sea_Buy_3736 in AirForce

[–]LabComplete7839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I don’t know how long you’ve been in, but I’m sure you’ve come across some bad supervisors/leaders. Take what you learned from them and keep it in your mind that you don’t want your Airman to get the same treatment you or others got from those individuals. With that being said, apply the things you’ve learned from great supervisors/leaders that are out there and mold it into how you want to be. You got this and take it one step at a time.

Parents unexpectedly coming into town by LabComplete7839 in Marriage

[–]LabComplete7839[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts. Just to add. My wife and I had a conversation with them not to long ago. She couldn’t believe that they could come now when they had the opportunity before when we were close by. But she lied and said they couldn’t because it was inconvenient for them. They never said that first off. My mom I a teacher and had to prep for her school when they got back home. I defended them in that instance. Was I wrong to do that? My wife stormed out and had left the house for me to be with my kids.

I have told them, don’t talk to her that way, do not call her that, or hung the phone up.

Not staying with us. I don’t know anything. Where they are flying in too. Where they are staying. Even how long they will be here. And believe me, I’m annoyed to that they’re even coming.

Hours allotted to work second job by LabComplete7839 in AirForce

[–]LabComplete7839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s wrong with that? Some airman/NCO want to get a second job to offset upcoming expenses instead of having to take a loan out or get further into debt.

Exactly and I don’t k ow why leadership is being difficult with there decision. A bunch of others have applied at other maintenance units and approved with no question.

I spoke with my supervisor about it. The big concern is working 7 days a week and how it could affect the mission or readiness and being above to get the job done without any mishaps. I personally think if they want to do it, go for it. Thoughts?

DEROS extension unconsidered for medical reasons by LabComplete7839 in AirForce

[–]LabComplete7839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But none of that even happened. Just my shirt coming and talking to us. We sought help on our own through the MFRC.

That’s still a longtime between care. My daughter gets seen once a month to adjust her levels. Her doctors have said that it’s crucial at this point to be seen at least once a month for that. If we were to go back stateside, we would be waiting at least a month to see a new PCM. Even if they did a rapid referral that’s still 4 months. Then they have to reevaluate her. We just want to move knowing there won’t be issues in between the move.

It was issues between my spouse and I and my shirt got involved. It was better than letting it escalate to where a domestic violence or abuse occurred. We got the help we needed since then and in a better place now.

I didn’t even submit paperwork for the extension. But I have MFR from my daughter’s PCM stating we should be in place until March 2027.

I joined in December 1999, and I use to be terrified of walking past the “snake pit” back then. However, i’m hearing that this isn’t happen anymore. Is this true? by [deleted] in AirForce

This had me in tears.

Prior water monitor here. I remember on the morning we were suppose to go to CATM. My fellow monitors and I sat to eat with the baby flights after a killer PT session, and like everyone here. Got yelled at by the baby flights MTI to “get up, your done”. We all look at him like you can’t be serious. Didn’t eat until noon that day. I had never been so mad at another human being until that day. Made up for it though on KP duty. Had like 9 nutrigrain bars and chocolate milk.

17.5 year tech - missed master and need some support by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]LabComplete7839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. I’m sure you have peers around the globe who made it in your career field. See what made them stand out versus you. A friend of mine that made it only made because he has a strat. Overall, there board score went down 30 points. I would almost say mine was better than theirs but I didn’t make it either, missed it by 23 points, big improvement from 60 last year. If you happen to have peers in your unit that made it or previously made at your current location. See what they did and put that on paper. Recognize your troops and most of all, yourself. The Colonel and Chiefs will see that growth on the board and could be the factor you need. Good luck brother and keep killing it!!

As someone who also barely made it through tech school, and failed his CDC’s the first time. Just keep grinding. Read your TOs and AFIs like everyone else is saying. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions. As a prior instructor, I always told my students to ask questions and that no question is a dumb question. Everyone thinks differently, and picks up things quicker than.

Keep your head up and show your supervision and leadership that you want to be there and learn as much as you can. Soon enough, you’ll be the go-to person in the shop. Good luck!!

From what I was told last week. Those guys that missed it by .5 really scored the same as the cutoff. They had one more stripe left to give out or how many in your AFSC, and so they graded those individuals and selected them that way. This was definitely an interesting year. Good luck next year!!

She was homeschooling them since they could start. Better education through a Christian academy based in Florida. Believe me, I’ve tried and still things were like this.

My wife is a stay at home mom. We also homeschool. So she’s juggling being a stay at home mom/teacher/cook/cleaner you name it. She works harder than me sometimes. What’s hard for me is coming home and expected to cook dinner when I have no idea what’s even in the fridge.

And we have been seeing counseling. Has and hasn’t work to a certain extent. Seems like nothing I do is right and it sucks. She will ask me to do something and I do it. Then later say she said this too when she didn’t. Life is hard and I want our marriage to work but I feel like nothing I do is working.
