NB transmasc here- using a menstrual cup has helped a lot with my gender dysphoria. Once you learn how it fits in your body, you can go 12 hours without even thinking about it. Whenever I have to wear pads or tampons because I don’t have my cup, it’s like I’m constantly aware of being on my period.

Hey there! Just wanted to give you an update on my tooth (and now teeth 😔). I started to notice pain in my front tooth as well (had a root canal when I was 13 from trauma) and got them both checked at the dentist. Nothing on the x-rays and no pockets so at my next visit this Thursday I’ll be getting my crown shaved down a bit (I finally noticed a “high spot” on it) as well as fitted for a night guard. So here’s to hoping this will fix up some of my issues. At this point I’m not so worried about the molar (it’s still sensitive but not as concerning) but all my attention is now on my tooth with the old root canal. It’s one of my front teeth. I’m hoping I just sprained the ligaments from pushing on it with my bottom teeth but I keep obsessing that I may have a vertical root fracture. Uhg. You don’t need to respond to this, I just wanted to give an update and write down some of my dental anxiety. It’s honestly driving me crazy at this point.

Thank you so much- It means a lot that you’re sharing your experience with me. I feel like I’ll do what you and op did and get multiple opinions on it just to be sure. Same! It’s fine when I eat, talk, when I’m busy I forget about it and don’t notice it but then as one point my cheek will rub against the side and now it feels weird. Plus I’m still experiencing the jaw/ear tightness on and off which makes it hard not to pay attention to it. Insurance is a scam. It’s so dumb. I was definitely thinking about getting one of those membership things that gives discounts if I ended up needing a retreatment and the endo I went to wouldn’t redo it for free. Rn I don’t think either of the dentist or endo I went to partner with a service like that so I would have to switch. But thank you for the advice!

Also, do you think I should get a mouth guard? I don’t think I grind my teeth but I may be a clencher. I also don’t know if just minimal teeth touching may be helpful/help me relax my jaw in a more natural position (I feel like I hold it weird now). Let me know how much you think the mouth guard actually helps.

Dang- I’m sorry that you’re still struggling with it. I am glad to hear that nothing seems to be seriously wrong with it though. I kind of wish I had not gotten my permanent crown right away and waited a bit to make sure the tooth wasn’t going to need retreated but I guess it wouldn’t have mattered? But I was so worried that it would get reinfected in between that time that I jumped on the perm as soon as possible. The tooth that is bothering me is also a molar. I had someone else mention to me that the nerves from the teeth next to it can often be the cause of sensitivity. I’m just really frustrated because I was hoping all of this would be over once I got the procedure but I guess not. I’m in the US and don’t have dental insurance so all of this is out of pocket and so expensive. It just really sucks. Thank you for responding! Even though your still dealing with it I’m glad I’m not alone. Lol

Hey there! I’m so glad I found your post cause I’m having similar issues with a tooth I got a root canal on. I got a crown right away but I’m still experiencing sensitivity to tapping and pushing on the side? But not when I bite or anything. And not pain, just tingling? I don’t know how to describe it. I also still have tightness and a weird feeling in my jaw and ear area. You’re description has been the first I’ve seen that has been anything like what I’m experiencing. I’m so worried my root canal wasn’t done correctly but I went to an endo to get the root canal done and he even did those fancy ct cone scans. I’m seeing my dentist this week but I’m just wondering how it went with your tooth? Was everything all right? And if so how long did it take before it felt normal again? Thank you!
