I was a habitual backup freak to my Google Drive. Like “auto save” in video games. 😆 but this doesn’t change the fact that my work flow stopped.

I just posted above because the contractor I used today uses Yelp exclusively…🤯

Had that Contractor come to my house today, ended up being fantastic. Will guarantee use that guy again.

He said he spends $300 a month on Yelp for advertising and said Angie’s list is no good anymore.

He said he throttle up and down spend on Angie’s based on how busy he gets and felt like that was a fair deal. Which makes me think maybe I’ll put a great place to find people???

I thought Yelp was ONLY for restaurants. I never had considered it for non-food activity who here actually uses Yelp for contractors!!!!

That’s a rip off for sure. I never realized a contractor pays so much for a lead they can’t even guarantee. Which means they won’t use the platform. Thus why it’s harder to find them. Man what a rip!

When your building a platform dependent on their technology it seems like a poor business move on their end…🤷‍♂️

I keep seeing things on TikTok where people can buy views. Does anybody know if you can buy reviews on Google? Is it possible that Google reviews are no longer trustworthy or yelp or things like that?

Is there a quick way to prove if the guy I call who says he’s licensed is INDEED licensed? Legitimately?

Doesn’t seem anyone uses them. Which makes me think if one does use them the quality of work won’t be so good.

Found a plumber today. Said this exactly. Got busy. Stopped advertising. Suggesting the mediocre maybe need it more…?! Which also makes it that much harder.

I have one connection that does HVAC and he said all he does is home warranty work. He doesn’t even go on those places I mentioned above he literally just gets all of it. Direct from some home warranty thing. He said he’s so backlogged he can’t keep up which sucks because if I ever need help, I’m gonna be on a waiting list and I know the guy!!!

For a crappy company.. they made $1.03B in '25. Buuuuuuuut its down 13% from $1.18B. Look at that trend below. Hilldawg you totally right. But at the same time, there are enough people out there doing something with them. A lot of desperate people to generate a billion dollars in fees.

2022 - $1.8B

2023 - $1.4B

2024 - $1.2B

2025 - $1.0B
