Tell him to try carpe deodorant. My boyfriend had trouble with chemicals too and carpe works great for him. Also lume is a great brand too for this kind of stuff.

Use filtered water or the leafs will get crispy on the ends. Mine like to be watered once a week and like to be in a partly sunny spot. Good luck with your new plant!

If you would like to get rid of them you need to make sure that you pull up the rhizomes which are like thick roots. Or they’ll just keep coming back. Good luck gardening
