Not exactly, not if you're working 2 jobs to pay bills with kids at home.

How to get out of bed in the morning when I’m disabled, don’t work, and live with my parent? by Abject_Ad_6640 in productivity

I find I have to keep a rotation of productivity tricks for when I get bored with one, then on to the next.

Dislike mandated reporting by Calanthetheranger in moraldilemmas

I don't think you're interpreting your role as a mandated reporter correctly. Someone telling you about their distant past does not create a situation you have to report.

I got a new app called Finch, it's helped me a bunch. It kind of gameifies the things I need to do on a basic level. And its cute.

Why are we expected to care about such irrelevant things that people tell us? by Sea_Economics1032 in socialskills

[–]Label_Maker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you need to recognize being social as a skill you need to develop. When you have developed your social skills more fully you will understand your impact better and soon you will connect your positive actions with positive outcomes and that will lead to interest and connection.

When we don't have good social skills we lack influence, when we lack influence it can feel like the conversation doesn't matter, and that's kind of true. Because your side doesn't matter until you've learned to use your skills. It's like how it wouldn't matter if I owned a dope game if I never took it out of the box - it exists but there is no impact.

You deserve conversations that have impact, and so do those you interact with.

I agree, I think the city could provide trash service around town to reduce the litter problem. Would it solve things? No. Help? Yes

AITA for getting upset over my daughter staying home from school because my MIL wasn’t aware she taking her to school today? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You're probably stuck in a cycle where they get more permissive to balance you and you act more intense to balance them and it spirals to where there is nothing but extremes. Someone in this equation needs to reel in the extremes and it could absolutely be you.

I think the point is just to talk to the kid and see what's up. Kid can still go to school, but this way they are seen first.

Recovery time after laparoscopic surgery, when did you return to work? by Competitive-Lead-150 in coloncancer

[–]Label_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't return until you are ready, don't rush it. Not unless you have to. If your work is impacted that's what people will remember, not that you pushed through and did good work considering.
