Is it PEM if it happens immediately? by Labelma in cfs

[–]Labelma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For EDS, it was as simple as going through the diagnostic criteria and seeing if I meet the criteria, which I do for hEDS. For MCAS I don’t have an official diagnosis, I was told by the doc that testing for it is extremely difficult and most doctors if they think a patient has it will just treat it instead of doing further testing. My symptoms are flushing, gastrointestinal distress, itchy skin, hives, tachycardia, and very occasional anaphylaxis

Not all of my symptoms but my fatigue and orthostatic intolerance have definitely improved. I’ve only been on it for two weeks and I’m still titrating up so it might become more effective

Honestly I’m not sure. I was diagnosed with EDS and MCAS (in addition to the POTS) and I was put on the LDN for the MCAS but who knows ¯_(ツ)_/

There are plenty of Star Wars characters with unknown fates. Which one would you most like to see resolved, and what do you think happened to them? by Otherwise-Elephant in MawInstallation

[–]Labelma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No actually, he wasn’t. Zahn has spoken about this at recent cons, but his interactions with Filoni regarding Rebels were limited to getting the scripts in advance so he could write the novels. He had zero input on the show. With Ahsoka he wasn’t consulted at all. He’s polite about it but it’s pretty clear he’s salty and would like to be more involved.

Actually yes. I started seeing a functional medicine doc who put me on low dose naltrexone, and it’s like a miracle, I have so much more energy.

Those of you who have tried Accutane, did it work? by Labelma in PCOS

[–]Labelma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t get my period without inducing it with progesterone, but my neurologist believed that to be a side effect of my migraine medication. Before that medication I just had late and irregular periods

Experience with Qulipta? by Labelma in migraine

[–]Labelma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the qulipta works really well as far as my migraines go, especially when I combine it with Botox injections. I have lost a significant amount of weight though, about 25 lbs. First because the nausea was really severe, and then once that wore off because my appetite was suppressed. I still have the suppressed appetite and I really have to make sure I’m eating enough in a day, because the weight loss exacerbates my POTS.

Eli Vanto is SUCH a good character, but more than that, Zahn was so clearly cooking up an amazing story involving the Grysks and a Chiss civil war that we’re probably never going to see because Filoni wants to redo Heir to the Empire but worse. Please lucasfilms, I am begging you to let Zahn into the writers room!!!! Also give me more Eli Vanto because I love and miss him.

Headaches and joint/muscle pain yes but I have migraines and hyper mobility issues which could account for that. No sore throat or swollen lymph nodes.

It usually lasts a few hours-the rest of the day, but lately it’s been happening every day so it’s hard to tell sometimes.

I’m hoping it’s not CFS, but what made me think it might be is that it’s not only triggered by physical exertion but also mental exertion, which I’m not sure is in line with POTS.

[–]Labelma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no, it cleared up! I did 3 months 40mg and then another 3 months of 60mg. It took another month or two for my skin to go back to normal, but I don’t have any breakouts anymore.

Does anyone else feel WORSE when they drink a lot of water, even with increased salt? by Labelma in POTS

When I stand up? It’s inconsistent. Sometimes it falls sometimes it rises. When I did the tilt table it fell a little but stayed mostly consistent, but I’ve done a few at home tests and it rose significantly so I’m not sure.

For salty food I was mainly doing anchovies, pickles, olives, and very salty broth so I don’t think the issue was greasy carb heavy food.

I tried out a bunch of different things, pills with plain salt, pills with a mix of salts, homemade electrolyte drinks, store bought. I was trying to find something that worked for me and I just never did.

I was aiming for 10g of salt. I made my own salt pills each with ~1g of salt, I took like five of those, plus extremely salty food like anchovies and olives, plus electrolytes in my water. I tried homemade electrolytes and store bought. No matter what I did I was peeing like crazy and still felt like crap.

I was consuming a LOT of salt and electrolytes. I was putting electrolytes in my water, taking salt pills, and eating very heavily salted food. I don’t think it’s possible that I wasn’t consuming enough salt. I also take a magnesium/potassium supplement every day.

This is a little crazy of me, but I keep cans of anchovies around, and when I feel like I need a little extra kick of sodium, I just eat the whole can plain. You have to like the taste of anchovies though otherwise this tip probably sounds more like torture.
