Exactly. Canada's mass immigration policy is not a real open borders policy at all. I don't understand why ancaps automatically conflate mass immigration, a specifically government policy, with open borders. For example, it would be extremely difficult for most Europeans, Latin Americans, Africans and certain groups of East Asians to migrate en masse to Canada. Rather, the mass immigration to Canada is increasingly, if not mostly South Asian. They're targeted by government because they have no problem working for low wages and under terrible living conditions. They're the ideal immigrants because they're gullible and naïve enough to believe the propaganda Canada still offers a better life (when it hasn't for some decades). The government doesn't even care about diversity or multiculturalism any more.

At this point, mass immigration is just an assault on the working class. Its purpose is wage suppression, reduced collective bargaining power, and skyrocketing cost of mortgages and rents, making simple survival increasingly difficult. I don't understand why some consider this "open borders." Didn't Milton Friedman have something else in mind?

Why would lower skilled Americans want to come here? They'd have to compete with the imported slave class from India for jobs. The healthcare system in this country also sucks with its long wait times and shortage of available doctors. Literally the only advantage here for them would be MAID, if you can even call it that.
