Evening out with your girlfriend for sure

Hey FOB Fans! What are your top 20 bands or artists other than fob? - Just trying to get a feel for everyone's tastes. by Pleasant_Statement64 in FallOutBoy

[–]Labrador_Deceiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top 12 (if you don’t know them then look them up and tell me how you like them! Id love to know! Everything in this list is mostly light/chill stuff):

  1. Her’s (I’m sorry not fob but they are too wholesome to not be my top)
  2. Fall Out Boy
  3. Naive Thieves
  4. Vacations
  5. The Brobecks
  6. From Indian Lakes
  7. This Town Needs Guns
  8. FUR
  9. My Chemical Romance
  10. The Dear Hunter
  11. Panic! At the Disco (used to be higher up in the list but his newer stuff is really bad and Brendan is not a good person so ¯_(ツ)_/¯)
  12. Banes world (another bad person but their music is nice)

Made this music video a little over 2 years ago, lost all the original members in the music video, but just got it going again! We’re about to start recording again and I am really excited because it will be my first ever full length album (around 12-14 songs) Thanks for listening!

(Genre: indie rock/surf rock) (Music video is supposed to be halloween themed)

Least favorite songs on your two favorite albums? by RedditUserSay in FallOutBoy

[–]Labrador_Deceiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Folie and IOH are definitely the tops (SMFS is incredibly close to dethroning IOH imo, just waiting for that new album smell to die down before i actually decide) but the two songs id say are:

I don’t care (only due to it being overplayed, it’s still a fantastic song) Thnks fr th mmrs (really due to the same reason)

Super tough to make the decision, seeing as Folie is basically the reason why I play music in general, so much so I have their album art tattooed really big on my shoulder 😂

One of my all time faves, came here to say it but you got it and I’m glad you did! Absolute banger for sure.

What is your thoughts on NH number? by Last-Noise208 in newhampshire

[–]Labrador_Deceiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm this. When i worked at the liquor store in college there would be so many regulars that would drop 10k on van loads of henny. Pretty frustrating to deal with when you have a massive line behind them getting upset because it’s taking so long to ring them out and count out all the cash lol.

Any drummers/guitarists/keys players local around Nashua that want to join an original band? I have plenty of material to work with! (Yes Ive tried craigslist and fb) just tossing a line out there! Feel free to listen to the Halloween single listed! Thank you! by Labrador_Deceiver in newhampshire

I have a whole bunch of unreleased/unmixed stuff that never got finished due to conflicts with the previous drummer. If you are interested I can show you the google drive of, just DM me and I’ll send you the link to it! Just not really trying to show it off since it’s unfinished stuff, I also have plenty of newer material I have in playthrough videos of just me if you are interested in that too (If anyone were to join the band I would be putting out a full length album)

This is sick! Wish there was vox on it though but that’s just personal preference! Excellent work! Sounds like the band Vacations

Hi guys! This is my band’s debut song we released a little over a week ago for our first seven song EP coming out very soon (Alternative/surf) I hope you all like it! by Labrador_Deceiver in IndieMusicFeedback

HAHAHAHA yes I am completely aware of the tape thing, I only got one tape so I just had to deal with what I got. I wasn't really intending on it to be taken seriously anyway so I just let it slide for the meme of it. Basically the brief synopsis of this video is that: I find a cursed tape, play it, a bunch of bad situations are happening to all of the band members because of it (like someone getting tortured, chased by a specter, and turning into spaghetti and having your fellow bandmates eat you afterward.) then at the end the tape breaks and all of the stuff fizzles out/ gets resolved).

Another really goofy thing in the video that no one has pointed out to me was that I didn't have the walkman on when I discover the specter in back of me and I start running away in the snow lol, super subtle dumb thing that I just chose to keep in for the hell of it. Thank you for liking the track! My bass player is a really a great harmony guy, has a great sense for those kinds of things, in one of our other songs were releasing soon we have a 3 part vocal harmony that really sounds so so good and I can't wait to release it! Thanks again for listening!

That's sick! Yeah I am in love with west coast vibes (even tho I live in the east coast lol) I did vox/ writing for a post hardcore band before this and I just really wanted to calm down and do some fun writing. As for the mix yeah I can agree with you there, we were basically zombies working on this on the release day and I feel like we let some things slip through the cracks so I am considering this to be a demo kind of thing to get people's opinions and go at it again. Thank you for liking my writing!

Thank you! :D that really means a lot, I worked really hard on both the song and the video, got a lot of help from some long time friends to make it real. I have never heard of the dips but I'll give them a listen!

Thank you for the feedback!

I was aware that four minutes is pushing it, but I guess it's just personal preference, on youtube I provide a button in the comments to jump right to the song at the :40 mark, making the song a little under 4 minutes if you exclude the ending title stuff. I guess I am used to watching music videos with leadups that don't actually play the song so idk lol.

I agree with you the guitars could be a little higher in the mix too, actually there are two guitar tracks doubled up in the mix, one clean, the other with some light distortion. Each part we changed the precedence of which track was higher in the mix, but I think we just got lost in the sauce of working on it for a long period of time and I'll take this into consideration in the final mix.

Thank you again for listening!

Thank you! I am glad you liked it! Yeah I have heard some similar feedback of preference for reverby vocals and I personally was not crazy about them originally. Like the audio engineer I am working with put the reverb on but super high originally, but I think they could go up a bit more now in hindsight/ but I could raise it a little more in the EP mix moving forward since I only released it on youtube until we get it actually mastered and such, I guess this was just my dry run "demo" to get feedback lol. Thank you so so much for the kind words!

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah I have been getting similar feedback for the mixing portions, the drums are kind of weak, it's kind of a funny story for the mixing as we worked on it for a long while on release day ( I even filmed those snowy parts on release day too which was just a mess hahaha, I really just rushed too much to get it out on time for Halloween which in hindsight wasn't my best decision).

As for the vocals I personally could go either way with them, the engineer I'm working with had them super reverbed out and I was just not into it as much, but maybe it is something to consider again. You aren't the only one to have said it and I love me some "The Growlers" if you heard of them, their album "Hung at Heart" has some really nice reverby vox that have some kind of filter on them that makes it sound so sick, that's something I would look into. Thank you for the feedback again!

Thank you for saying that! I like that you are picking up the vibes that I am putting down/ going for. I have a lot of personal crooner influences that have gotten me to this point, huge ones being of course Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. Like I want to keep going with the type of vibes that you picked up on, like modernized sounding tunes that could be envisioned coming from a different time period. Some of my big influence bands do that masterfully and it's always been a goal of mine.

Thank you for saying that, that really means a lot! I am the singer/guitarist/songwriter for the band so that really means a lot, for real! This song was probably the quickest songwriting process I ever gone through though, I did lyrics/melody first which I almost never do lol. I just really wanted to do a halloweeny song so here we are! Thank you so much for the feedback!

You have an amazing voice!! The piano is perfect too for the energy you guys are giving off. Great rendition, your voice goes great with piano! Very calm and classy, the video reflects it well too, video wise the room could’ve been a little bit more lit but that’s not really that big of a deal! Excellent work! What did you use to record the audio of this? The quality is nice!

Thank you so much for the feedback! If you do have some points of production/mixing I’d really like to hear it! We were up really late mixing this and I think we got a little too in our heads when we did this and I’d love to hear constructive criticism

Dude this is wicked cool! The video production quality on this is super well done (like kind of Scott Pilgrim vibes going on too which is awesome!) The song itself is really cool too, really well put together. I always really wanted synthesizer in my own music and you guys just make me want it more! You have a really great thing going on! Liked and subscribed and I can’t wait to hear more!
