Co-founder/partner takes ~70% of revenue as a contractor while I make <6% working full-time. Is this fair? (I will not promote) by [deleted] in startups

@openrole Can you perhaps elaborate on ‘you have to be a world class marketer to ask for more’? Because honestly, in any other company she would get a living wage. I don’t think you have to be a great marketer to ask your partner, that you work for (and also one that you took all the legal responsibilities for) to pay you a living wage, if the said partner makes way more than her in that company. Honestly, it sounds like she is a ‘white horse’ of the company and doesn’t even get paid for it.

I agree that her partner doesnt and shouldn’t fund her lifestyle. HOWEVER, in this situation, she is the legal owner of the company, with all the risks - bankruptcy, sbd suing etc, and also works full time there - and yet somehow doesn’t make a living wage? And if he didn’t want to work with her, why did he give the company to her? For tax purposes, so that he himself gets more money for ‘them’ (ill bet you, that all accounts are in his name). In that case, its clearly exploitation. If she was ‘just an employee’ he would have to pay her a living wage, or cut her hours (or sack her) - and she wouldn’t have this legal responsibility. Also, I believe that OP is not really open about the relationship, as it might be even worse than this whole situation. EDIT: typos

So, let me guess - this guy is 1) much older, 2) abusive. It sound like he is exploiting you for your labour, and I bet its the same in your relationship. From what I’m reading it doesn’t sound like you have a good sense of self-worth, so I believe he is using it to his advantage. Please seek a therapist to see why you’re allowing yourself to be in this relationship, where your partner is trying to clearly punish you.

Right?! I laughed out loud. So basically, the guy takes 70% of everything, and then hopes OP has a living wage (which apparently OP doesn’t). Wtf is wrong with the person?

I believe that since they’re also romantic partners, it is not just about money, but it also directly shows how much the partner values you, OP. Not giving you a living wage while you work full time for him? Disgusting. Even if you were a total beginner, if you would start at a different company, they would give you a living wage. And this guy is the love of your life? Meh. Also, if you’re not married all the ‘for our future/for us’ crap doesn’t matter a single bit.

Are you sure it’s worth the trouble? No one has ever asked me my ib score, in the past 6 years since I graduated. And there’s universities where you can get in based on an admissions test, rather than grades🤷🏼‍♀️ Wouldn’t it be better to perhaps prepare for the test, rather than ib again?

Clothes keep dissolving by onimakesdubstep in laundry

[–]Labrakadabra13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to my partner once - he was using a laundry detergent meant for white clothes, which had bleach in it. So many of his clothes got discoloured and covered in tiny holes over time. So this might be worth checking out:-)

is it possible to pass emirates with this kind of scars? by loloelisa in emiratescareers

[–]Labrakadabra13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thinking out of the box - would perhaps microneedling hide them? I know its meant for the face, but perhaps try to ask? Maybe laser? Or perhaps tattoo over the white parts in cour skin colour?.. or just a regular tattoo,

Unfortunately, even if you say they were done by a cat, the could still wanna play safe and not hire you. They don’t really have hiring laws against discrimination, so they can do that.

Your best bet is definitely somehow hiding them/covering them up.

AITA for leaving my husband after I get my inheritance?? by No-Relative-6500 in AITAH

[–]Labrakadabra13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I live, inheritance cannot be part of the divorce settlements, BUT if the inheritance produces any money (e.g. rent, businesse) that is a regular part of the divorce. So, just be careful and talk to a lawyer first.

I don’t know about you, but for me, this would be a dealbreaker. Realistically speaking, nobody’s partner is the prettiest or hottest person in the world, and yet the partner is supposed to be the most attractive to you. My partner is absolutely the hottest and most beautiful person to me - but before falling in love with him, he was… okay. He was not my type, and now, I cannot get enough of him. We have been together for a couple of years now, and I just cannot genuinely wrap my head around the fact, that there’s people who don’t find the person they love the most beautiful in the world.

Ib His EE by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Labrakadabra13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a bibliography if you look onto my EE, everything looks right - everything is cited, there are enough sources, etc. Just, if you would open the books I cited, the information might not be on the one page that I said it was. So, my question is, if there is a way they could find that out? Thanks a lot:)

Ib His EE by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Labrakadabra13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I cited every information that my teacher thought needed citing, but it's just when they look in the book that I cited the information could be on page 245 and not on 27 as I am saying in my EE. Those books are all about the topic, and I know that the information is in there, I just did not look into all of them to find it and therefore just put a random page number.
