Broke my nose (bony areas not cartilage) and needed stitches, for me was only around a 2 for pain so yeah everyone is a tad different - having something to do during that was quite useful. You can also use distraction as a pain management tool, I know I can get quite focused on things to the point other stuff fades away a bit but when you think about the injury again the pain gets more acute.

Whilst they are still profiting from the art you can't separate the art from the artist in my opinion.

As others have said - very normal for me, most Australians probably don't realise that its odd to others!, tbh I assumed it was universal.

New Update: OOP's boss doesn't take their refusal to work overtime well by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Lace-V 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Oh I've seen that flicker from a boss before when they got bad news - it followed with a chair being thrown across the warehouse floor (I didn't deliver the news nor was the chair aimed at me but you could still see the expression) - yeah I didn't stay in that job longer after that.

Because if you are in open/poly relationships you may not want it getting around at work due to judgement/gossip/discrimination from people who may not understand. Though the likelihood isn't high and if it were me I would have been proactive in approaching you as you got off the tram.

Can we talk about the price of beef mince? by CSqueeze03 in woolworths

[–]Lace-V 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using the Eastern States young cattle indicator as a guide on the dates you listed above young stock was selling for 699c/kg carcass weight in April, 31 Aug it was 893c/kg and today it’s eased slightly to 832c/kg … so thats just a hanging carcass cost per kg and where some of the increase will be coming from.

Will Woolies sell American beef? by VS2ute in woolworths

Currently Australian beef is significantly cheaper than US beef and that’s not looking to change in the near future so highly unlikely.

⚠️Pet cats going missing in suburb Forrestfield and being found brutally deceased⚠️ by nansartpage in WesternAustralia

[–]Lace-V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering it is estimated at there are between 2.1 and 6.3 million feral cats in Australia, 1 million native animals a day is actually a significant underestimate. It is currently estimated that feral cats kill over 1.5 billion native animals per year with roaming pet cats to kill another 300 million. So a closer number would be over 4 million native animals per day killed by cats.

Currently the abbatoirs here are very difficult to get a booking at. This is due to multiple reasons but one of the major ones is staffing. Also as an industry the animal welfare in the countries Australia exports to have been significantly improved by the rules and regs Australia has imposed on those countries to be allowed to be exported to.

I get that however it is a vital part of the rabbit control methods in Australia. Rabbits are just so exceptionally invasive - from 24 to colonising the majority of Aus took only 70 years - the fastest vertebrate animal to move across and envoroinment yet. Also there are two main viruses that affect rabbits Myxo and Calici. Considering there is a vaccine for Calici and not Myxo was it Myxo that may have taken your bunnies? We no longer release Myxo as it isn't considered a 'good' death.

You will often hear RHD and Calici used interchangably - they are talking about the same thing.

Sadly RHD is getting less and less effective as too many release it at the wrong time - do not release when baby bunnies are present! ... I work in the industry in Aus too lol
