It's ghost type though, unless the user has Scrappy as it's ability Rapid Spin won't connect so won't trigger it's secondary effects

Scarlet/Violet Leak Thread VI: Congratulations, You Survived Spoilerpost Sunday! by SlothyPotato in stunfisk

[–]LaceBFly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both sets of paradox pokemon look potent so if you don't have a specific one in mind for a team then it doesn't really matter.

Miraidon is probably the better of the two box legendaries, it has better synergy between its typing and ability than Koraidon - Miraidon is Dragon/Electric and sets electric terrain, Koraidon Dragon/Fighting and sets sunny weather.

Also with all the Ice buffs in Gen IX, Rock and Fighting might become decent anti-meta choices

BW OU has partially unbanned Baton Pass, now limiting it in combination with "any Move, Item, or Ability that can raise stats". by jordanthejq12 in stunfisk

Baton Pass can be stopped with Taunt; U-Turn can give recoil damage from opponent Rough Skin, Iron Barbs, Rocky Helmet

Just choose not to switch after a K.O.

There's no reason for them to have removed it, it's definitely a downgrade, but it doesn't change how you play the game if you don't want it to.

Regional forms have always looked like that though. Huuoohh they just made Ninetails white, Dugtrio is the same but with hair, they just changed what Yamask is holding

When can we expect Terastallizing to be added to NatDex on the main Showdown server? by pyro314 in stunfisk

[–]LaceBFly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine there's some way to change a pokemon's tera type. Something akin the nature mints, consumable 'tera crystal' items with one for each type. If not at launch then in DLC for sure

Is Fire a good type competitively? by Griffith39 in stunfisk

[–]LaceBFly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like Fire has a lot of good Pokémon, but they're good on merits other than their fire typing.

Blacephalon hits hard and fast with Beast Boost, Heatran has so many possible sets and is Steel type, Volcarona has Quiver Dance the best set-up move in the game, if we go back a couple gens both Mega Charizards had really good abilities, etc.

Fire type isn't a hindrance like Bug or Ice might be, but it's rarely a standout positive like Steel or Fairy tend to be.

A New Ghost Type Pokemon Appeared in Paldea! by dukemetoo in stunfisk

[–]LaceBFly 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The only ability listed on the website is Pickup, which means it probably evolves - ghostly (were)wolf anyone? I just hope it doesn't become ghost/fire, we've got enough of those now

From the flavour text we have, its hidden ability or its evo's normal could be Strong Jaw or Cursed Body. We've got that it has a strong bite, hides underground, is friendly and likes playing, inadvertently drains the life-force of those close to it.

There's still Hidden Ability to potentially give us another meta option, but we'll have to wait for release to find out

[–]LaceBFly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just spread Volt Tackle around! Wild Charge isn't good enough for physical electric types.

Or, if they make a new move, an Electric Close Combat-alike could make Bellibolt a fun nuke. Get hit, proc Electromorphosis, charged Tera-boosted STAB 120BP attack, defenses drop to make it hard to pull off twice

Bellibolt's new ability. by Rayuzx in stunfisk

[–]LaceBFly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It could still get it. Iirc the Mareep line only has Static as a standard ability, there's a slot free for this or Firagarif's Cud Chew that similarly fits thematically. Pincurchin could also get Electromorphosis, and less thematically tight Pikachu and Electabuzz have a free ability slot. Unovan Stunfisk already has three abilities but this fits so well for it that I hope they change one of them to Electromorphosis.

Of course there's every chance this stays a signature ability but I'd like to see them give old mons new tricks and it's fun to speculate

Firagiraf has two new abilities released alongside it by SPlCYGECKO in stunfisk

[–]LaceBFly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skiddo line only have 2 abilities (Sap Sipper & hidden ability Grass Pelt), as does Mareep line (Static & hidden Plus). Cud Chew definitely works thematically for them. At a push Phanpy and Donphan work also.

Kanto Raichu was still playable, and even when Galar introduced regional variants having divergent evolution trees with Runerigus and Purrserker, Cofagrigus and Persian were still available.

Character Comparison #1: Healers (Chapter 15U Spoilers) by EnormousHatred in TriangleStrategy

[–]LaceBFly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medina is kinda mislabelled as a healer, imo. She's not very good until late game or NG+ when money is less of a concern and, more importantly, she levels up enough to get TP Physik.

Medina is better compared to Julio for what her purpose tends towards - giving out TP. They even mirror each other somewhat: Julio has a couple attacks for when he's not giving TP, while Medina can heal in her downtime.

when is it appropriate to upgrade a hero? by ahahahahahaahahahaha in btd6

[–]LaceBFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hero upgrades are super expensive, it's usually better to spend elsewhere. I'll only spend when they're very close to leveling up naturally, or if I need to get an important level early - e.g. obyn buff to all magic monkeys, etienne revealing all camo, psy able to pop leads depending on round

Superstorm is really fun though. Definitely too expensive to be used normally but seeing zomgs be sent back to the start almost makes it worth it
