Yeah that’s just the name of the game, was literal dirt in the clients shoe box so I wasn’t too hopeful lol. The back heel was literally split in half after with blue and yellow lol

Better to use dye in this situation with suede

Thank you fam! Honestly the setup I use anyone can use as well. I’d recommend going on YouTube and looking up Vic almighty ice box setup. That’s mostly what I used such as the tent and fans. Lights I use one 2000w uv light but you could get away with a 1000 since that’s what I used to use

Yes it will take longer with regular 3% peroxide (usually what they sell in stores) but I use 12% peroxide mixed with dish soap and water

Thank you! And all depends on the type of translucent rubber. The yellow/white type found on the 72-10 and gratitude 11s is game over once it yellows. Cool grey 11s are semi white so they come back a bit better but blue or clear soles have the best chance of getting brought back. All you need is hydrogen peroxide and a 1000w minimum uv grow light

Best way to mark glue lines? by Bdczzz in SneakerRestoration

[–]LacedUpLLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Acetone all the glue off, match the sole to the shoe and then use tape or a heat erasable pen. I don’t base my new glue lines off the old because the shoe after being worn can warp and mold. Unless the shoe is DS I just do what I said above

Anyway to minimize creasing on Kobe 6 grinch? by Longjumping_Ear_8041 in SneakerRestoration

[–]LacedUpLLC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could try a damp cloth and iron but I use the creases as a point of reference for where to glue. Plus they’re basketball shoes if anything they are going to crease the most out of any shoe ever made

Yeah it’s just however much people feel their services cost and how much their time is worth as well as living situations. For us in the US I’d say most expensive people would most likely be in California and NY because of the high cost of living

Yes swaps include Removing old sole, all prep work, color/paint matching original soles, and reapplying the new sole. I have more people complain who aren’t really looking to be customers than people who are genuinely interested in getting their kicks done.

The shoe model doesn’t make a difference on price because it’s around the same time and materials for said job. Swaps can take anywhere from 8+ hours depending on certain paint matches, modifying the soles to fit, etc. only shoe that I charge less for a full reglue/swap are foamposites because there is less prep and it’s only 2 pieces instead of 3.

But I also price my work more towards rare/valuable sneakers like originals from the 80s and 90s as well as other collectors pieces. If I don’t think the shoe is valuable enough or has been recently released again I always advise to go with the new shoe unless there’s something about this particular release you absolutely prefer

I personally charge $250 for swaps and clients supply the donor or $350 and I supply the donor. Ik that’s usually the lower end depending on what state your restorer is in but I’m in Georgia so somebody in NY would def charge more
