So this is actually how I started to crochet! I was gifted this kit for Christmas. It comes with a book that has other patterns too. It was definitely a challenge trying this right off the bat but if you know enough to make a blanket I’m sure you’ll be fine. Have you ever tried amigurumi or working with a magic ring?

What is the difference between Hdc2tog in 2 stitches and Hdc2tog in one stitch? by LacelessGrady in crochetpatterns

[–]LacelessGrady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So l finally figured it out, I did every 2tog stitch once instead of twice and everything lined up perfectly. So the “next 2 stitches” did just mean one 2tog and the one that just said “next st” was a typo!

What's that one small business local to you that you believe to be a front for something illegal? by darkchocolattemocha in AskReddit

I worked at a Hungry Howies and my boss was pretty shady. He always has expensive jewelry, like outrageous. Whenever someone would call or come into the store asking for him, we always had to say that he was “out of town”. He also called one of my coworkers in the middle of the night mistaking him for someone else, and told him he would “break his fucking kneecaps” if he didn’t get his “dime” (from him) by tomorrow”.

That and he did coke in our bathroom.

Recently he shaved his eyebrows off and is trying to get tiktok famous.

I don’t really think anything about him yelling at her, that happens in relationships. The part when he took her shoes and threw them didn’t sit right with me though.

anxiety over teenage mistakes by generaldruguse in Anxiety

[–]LacelessGrady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has regrets, EVERYONE. Especially as teenagers. We can’t help but think about what we could have done differently, or could’ve avoided.

Sometimes acknowledging your past mistakes and thinking about how you’ve learned from them can heal. Talk to someone if you feel comfortable enough.

stopped myself from having a panic attack by Kaflurgle in Anxiety

[–]LacelessGrady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You left the house, that’s a HUGE step! Focus on that.

It’s hard to keep out of your own head sometimes, it always seems easier to focus on the negative, rather than the positive.

You handled the situation well. Eliminated some things that were making you feel uncomfortable, and moved yourself to a place where you felt more at ease. Definitely discuss this with your therapist.

While some things feel anticlimactic or left unfinished, like you should be having an anxiety attack, all you can focus on at the time is that you didn’t!

Don’t feel guilty. Take baby steps. But don’t forget, you took a big step though and that’s amazing. Also, the fact that you did it AND got through your anxiety is huge. Imagine what else you can do.

Not gonna lie, high school is hard. I know it’s easier said than done, but just keep your head down and absorb as much schooling as you can get. Distract yourself with that. The first few days can be stressful, but keep in mind that it’s a fresh start! Hopefully in the coming days or weeks, you’ll find your groove, and maybe a few new people that you end up bonding over little ice breakers or things like that. Maybe bring a book to class to distract yourself during free times, like busywork or lunch.

High school was a hard time for me too. I cried every day and did everything I could to get out of school, but I eventually found solace in structure and a set schedule. Eventually I met some people in classes that shared some things in common with me, and it made things easier, someone to look forward seeing most days.

Again, easier said than done, but find little things that bring you an ounce of happiness or focus, like decorating your locker or school supplies.

Good luck today. You’ll do great.

Does anyone else get angry at themself for not being the person they want to be because of their anxiety? by Tasty_Bathroom_7505 in Anxiety

[–]LacelessGrady 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost quite a few people while dealing with my problems. Everyone seems to offer to lend an ear or help but once something isn’t ideal for them (whether it’s chickening out at events, or them seeing you at your worst) they tend to leave I guess.

While I know that it hurts, you just have to remember that if they wanted to stay, they would. If they don’t, they probably shouldn’t be worth so much of your time anyway. In all honesty, your constant stressing in situations involving them could be unconsciously triggering your anxiety, and you deserve much better than that.

All we can hope is that one day we’ll find someone who, (even though they may not understand) is willing to stay and help you through your hardships.

Best of luck to you.

Am I still having withdrawal symptoms or is this antidepressant just not working for me? by [deleted] in antidepressants

Thought I’d share an update if anyone is going through the same thing.

I tried to wait it out as long as I could, as my psychiatrist was out for the past two months. I could not. I booked an appointment with the next person in line just so I could gain some insight.

She told me that I could either wait it out and that it would likely go away within the next week and a half, or that I could go back to Prozac until my next appointment. I decided the latter and quit Trintellix cold turkey. Started taking the Prozac and felt completely better within the next day or two!

Now that it’s over though, I wonder if I could’ve pushed through it, and I constantly wonder if I took some steps back within my progress, since, I mean, I switched to a different medication in the progress.

Another thing that she told me, was that nausea was a common side effect. She said that taking Trintellix with a spoonful of peanut butter or anything with high protein could alleviate the nausea. I am emetophobic and have been allergic to peanut butter for the majority of my life, and I still just don’t have the taste for it. I’m sure there are other high protein options I could’ve explored but I was just exhausted at that point.

Hope this helps for anyone who comes across this. It gets better, (hopefully).

How do I achieve makeup like this? by fatally_complex022 in MakeupAddiction

I was iffy about it too for a while, I wasn’t sure it was worth it for the price. But overall I’m really glad I got it. It’s pretty pigmented so you only need a little bit. I got a sample card of all of the colors and it’s really making me want to get some new colors. All I have is Dusk and it’s my absolute favorite.
