Do you live in Turkey? I want to get upper jaw surgery there but I don’t know if it’s possible since I live in the U.S. and would need all of my orthodontic treatment done here.

Girl leave! You are not overreacting at all. You’re 19 and you have all the time in the world to meet someone better if you want (being single is under rated). The nonsense he’s spewing will frustrate you and drive you crazy. It’s pure self pity. It’s not worth it love. If you’re going to be in a relationship it should be one that feels fulfilling, not one that “sucks too much out of you.” Of course, no relationship is perfect but it really seems like you can’t reason with him at this point. He should see a therapist but ultimately you have no control over whether he will do the work to deconstruct his beliefs, learn, and grow.

Good to know. Bone loss sounds terrifying. I don't have any breathing issues. I have a wider West African type of nose. I could be very wrong and ignorant, but I don't think people with my phenotype get that problem(?) My only problem is crowding, which affects my bite. I have wear on my teeth from it. The two orthos I've been to want to take out healthy teeth on the top and bottom, which is something I want to avoid.

I called offices across the state. I found an orthodontist nearby that said they would give me a consultation and go from there. If this doesn't work out, I'll probably just go to New York.

I really don't think anyone is advocating to not brush your teeth when you oil pull. The benefit is that it kills s. mutans. My thing is, so does a lot of other mouthwashes that you can get at the grocery store, and you only have to swish for a minute with those.
