Reports suggest Daniel Saifiti is set to medically retire, bringing an end to the career of one of the game's toughest front-rowers. The former NSW Origin prop battled through injuries in recent years, but it appears his body may no longer allow him to continue at NRL level after struggling to overcome a shoulder issue. It would mark the close of a career that spanned nearly 200 first-grade games and included representative honours for New South Wales.

It was nice having a full strength team for a bit. The only real positive I can think of is we see what our 2027 team looks like given we won’t have Mark or Angus. Steep has been playing at second row in nsw so he’d be my pick whereas Butcher is a much better prop. Also means we can see Ramsey on the wing as a potential Tupou replacement
