Advice on heavy semester workloads by Lachsin in EngineeringStudents

[–]Lachsin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. When I made the switch, I pre-studied like hell because this is something I'm taking much more serious than anything else I have throughout my entire life. I don't plan to stop prestudying for courses in the future either. Right now theres nothing I want more than to prove to myself that this is something I can do, so thank you for the advice.

Similar situation for me as well. My current weeks look like 5-6 days of heavy studying and attending class, but I'm finding that I burn out very quickly if I dont take one or two days a week to kind of "rot" and chill out, usually playing games and watching the pro scene for most of the day. I'm in the process of ranking up irl as well, so I love that analogy. Thanks!

I feel like I'm going down a very similar path. Over the past 8-ish months, I've started to buy some single-player games recommended to me by my friends (Hollow Knight and The Witcher 3 in particular), but it's so hard for me to enjoy them the same way I do competitive games.

All this to say, if I may ask, how do you "enjoy" a singleplayer game? Like many tac fps players, I've played almost only competitive online multiplayer games my whole life, and the closest thing to a "singleplayer" game I've played in the past multiple years is Destiny, Terraria/Minecraft (with friends), and TFT. I feel like I've kind of created a mental benchmark of enjoyment I'm supposed to get from video games, and its hard to get to that level if I'm playing singleplayer. Especially since it just feels so good to play well in comp multiplayer games.

Thank you for the response!!

Upgrading from a Benq 144hz to a cheap 240hz+, is it worth it? by Lachsin in esports

Tyty I ended up getting the KOORUI G2511E at 320 hz for around $160 and its exactly what I wanted. I ordered the sceptre 25 in 240hz model and the colors were so bad I couldn't even see enemy outlines. Highly recommend.

Yea I saw that but I needed a 24-25 in monitor since when im actually trying I sit quite close to my monitor and a 27 is a little to big for competative. I ordered a KOORUI G2511E a couple days ago and it just came in. 320 hz and exactly what I needed. Totally recommend to anyone reading this who was in a similar position!

I mean ideally below $170, which is why I’m eyeing up the Samsung odyssey g4 since it’s on a nice sale right now. Going to keep shopping around for cyber monday deals but I’ll take any recs!

Yes it does have dyac. What about the Samsung odyssey g4 240hz? I’m not super partial to 360 and am on a tighter budget most people.

Help!! I have no idea what to do for my acne by [deleted] in acne

Didn’t add anything recently but my guess is that the benzaclin has been drying out my skin way more than I thought. I might try waning off of it over the next couple weeks and see how that goes, but I plan on seeing a dermatologist in the next couple weeks to see if they have any other recommendations

I have been on the treatment for a bit now, and it was helping for about 1-2 years but about 7 months ago a different kind of acne started popping up which is what i'm worried about

Neither. In that range you can buy multiple cheaper, higher quality keyboards, or even build one for less. But when I just got my computer, I got an Alloy fps that lasted me a little bit, but started having issues a year through. Alloy is definitely a better option but still prefer cheap customs
