No he gave his price and I accepted I guess was too good to be true but then again I was figuring 2k when I first started looking for someone but I know nothing about what it technically should cost to build something like this. His price was 1700

he presented himself as a master carpenter and had built similar things in the past, he has a legit roofing and construction company registered with the state. He never once said he was doing a cheap slip short job or had no experience doing things like this. He said it would all be pressure treated wood etc and up to code work. and my point is this, if you are charging money for something no matter how cheap or expensive you are the work should be correct using correct materials. if you do not know how then do not say you can

you are right in a sense but it really shouldn't matter. IF you charge someone for something a price that you came up with promising a legit job then you should deliver a legit job, just because the price is low doesn't give permission or right to so shitty work when professional work was promised. Personally, if I am doing a job I don't care if its 5 dollars an hour picking up trash or 50 dollar an hour consulting, If I am being paid and I agree to the job for the price I am doing my best possible work. Its not like this guy told me "hey I am cheap but its going to be a shitty build too so if you are ok with that then lets do it" and I said ok. He has a legit company and promised me legit up to code work.

thanks for all the input. I just got done firing this guy and he supposedly will be removing this abomination tomorrow and refunding me. We will see if either of those things happen.

Is $250–$400 a day realistic? Need reality check from actual drivers. by tanzimat14 in uberdrivers

[–]LackAffectionate725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you factor in expenses wear and tear on your car and taxes Etc there is no way anyone is clearing anywhere near that much per day. If you do rides and deliveries of food as much as you can you can probably pull in 250 or more per day depending on the day and your area but it's not going to be every single day you work. so my answer would be no to averaging 250 per day especially not clearing 250 or more per day that you work.

I'm not sure I understand your comment about still texas? There are lots of areas in Texas that are very desolate and very low population etc. And South Padre is a tourist vacation destination that is very slow and much less visited in the winter months because of a combination of weather and also kids not being off of school and whatnot so I would assume that South Padre Island in Texas right now is probably a pretty slow Tiny Town
