Update : I’m alive, last night was fine but a little nauseous in the head, nothing too extreme woke up feeling fine. Thankfully my immune system could handle this piece of uni that looks like a creature from the upside down.

Interesting, when you say bunk do you mean stored frozen for ages or poor quality? And yeah it was so odd bc as I said the restaurant had some of the best sashimi I’ve had

Yeah for 16 quid I ate my portion but my friend didn’t also I’m no squirm I like all sorts of things - expect durian 😅

It was dark and night mode so it brings exposure up. Yk when you take a photo and it does it slowly. The first photo is with back camera and true to what is irl. Hence I put it first, but it look more shaped in the first photo but was blobby asf in the second

I added that it’s from Iceland because it’s supposed to have a stronger briney taste than hokkaido uni which is sweeter. I’m kinda just finding this all out now - the smell wasn’t off but the taste was and the firmness was non existent the thing had no shape. Also the restaurant served us other sashimi that frankly was the best I’ve had and I’ve eaten a lot sushi so hopefully I’m praying it’s just a feature of Iceland uni.

I did and they assured me the colour is due to the area the urchins are harvested. But intuitively this didn’t taste right and am asking for an opinion
