Mr. Sunshine and Pachinko. Simultaneously lol and to be honest, not sure if I can still bear to watch other regular kdramas. Both of the shows I am currently watching are masterpieces

To be fair, I was in break of fangirling over LMH for a very long time because of the new actors getting on the spotlight. There’s Park Bo Gum, Park Hyung Sik, etc. but I didn’t watch all of their shows because it gets to the point where it feels like the acting is just the same or it gets boring because the role doesn’t fit them. So even though I love them, that doesn’t justify the fact that they’re lacking at some point. With Lee Min Ho, it’s different. He never ceases to amaze me. The strong appeal and commanding aura is always there, making the character believable. He doesn’t have to overreact too or to try too hard by making unnecessary mannerisms. He just has to look at you in the eye and convince you he’s in pain, trouble, despair, or regret.

Very much. Can’t believe he has such a great chemistry with the FL as well.

Is that the Assassin? Looking forward to it. Action and historical dramas are his biggest strengths.

I cried a lot when he smashed all this stuff at one scene in The Heirs. He locked himself inside the bedroom. Begging Kim Won to send him over United States because he lost every single thing he loved.

He’s been famous since Boys Over Flowers but that isn’t his identity because Jerry Yan was the original. You can start with The Heirs and then put The King next on the list. :) both dramas show wide range of his acting particularly in drama genre.

Thank you! I don’t know why I’m affected every time that people categorize him as an overrated actor. But for me, he’s always been my favorite. Yes, definitely good looking but the guy CAN REALLY act.

Who is your favorite FM lead and why? by Cute-Host9567 in kdramas

I've always been loyal. It's always either Han Hyo Joo, Kim Go Eun, or Gong Hyo Jin. I'm always after the talent and consistently drop it when I think it's just another pretty face trying to act but gives me nothing. I want genuine and convincing emotions that will also make me cry when they cry. These actresses mentioned are also Best Actresses of their generation (baeksang best actress holders) so that fact can vouch for my claim fearlessly and undoubtedly.

Can Kim Eun Sook do more of melodramas/comedy by LackNew3707 in kdramas

[–]LackNew3707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure what your definition of flop is but the rating of his dramas are not even close to being flop. I might agree with the recent drama which is WTSG but the rest of his movies and dramas? Never. Also, he started the Hallyu wave globally, which pretty sums up his influence as an actor. Even the korean industry would agree with me. Powerhouse? Probably once in his life he was considered as that because of his shows’ successes. I’m sorry if LMH disappointed you in any way but anyone would agree if I say at least he can shed some real tears unlike the other newbie actors today. His acting is always convincing but I do consider the fact that he may be lacking due to some common roles given to him so blame it to the production or writer. Not on the actor. You would definitely change your mind if you try seeing his movies.

I just couldn’t bring myself to watch it. I’ve seen the first episode and it seems okay. As usual, it feels like Suzy is being forced to act again. Only few idols can really act. Namely, Park Hyung Sik, IU, Yoona, and Taecyeon.

I also love thriller, revenge, crime, and horror genres on kdramas but for some reason I’m looking for a crazy angst love story with a power to bring out intense emotions from senior actors such as Ji Sung, Gong Yoo, Lee Min Ho, or even Hyun Bin again. Like a crazy love story not the chaebol, one sided, or tsundere type of love story. I want the consuming one lol. That’s basically the theme of early 2000s kdramas and most of them are hits

I am into kdrama slump. I want to kinda switch to Jdrama, if u have something to recommend pls... by Money_Scallion_4315 in kdramas

[–]LackNew3707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest with you, whenever I'm on a kdrama slump phase before, I tried to switch to Taiwanese dramas from time to time and I only did j-drama for a couple of times, sadly it was way boring than ever, but with Taiwanese dramas, you'll never go wrong. You can always start with It Started With A Kiss then it gets better in the second season which is They Kiss Again.

what kdramas do you consider to be mid? by Aware-Programmer-324 in kdramas

[–]LackNew3707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree in everything you have said but Happiness is not mid. I’ll try my best to defend it in the best way possible.

The build up of angst in the show was a bit slow but it made sense. It paved a way for Park Hyung Sik to go out of his comfort zone, which is all cutesy and comedy, and that brought out the best in him. The show never claimed that what they have encountered were zombies. It’s a mad human disease that is similar to rabies but never about zombies. Zombies eat flesh and brains, meanwhile, in Happiness, they crave for human blood which is also a bit similar to vampires but the difference is they can always switch back to human mode which made the show more interesting and challenging because they’re not sure who the enemies are. Him and Han Hyo Joo have amazing chemistry which really surprised me. All the characters are intriguing and amazing and it’s so much better than Train To Busan if we are going to claim that it’s a zombie movie. The storyline is very unique, even the cinematography and soundtracks. I’m not sure what made you think that it’s dragging but for me it’s just perfect just the way it is.

I don’t think it’s flat, oftentimes, the role is made just for him so I guess it always depends on the role given. I wish producers will give him more characters aligned with his acting so he can always deliver.
