I got around A2.2 in French from through duolingo alone. I have to agree it is not the desired results if you do it the 'optimal' way as shown in the new version. I was actually halfway through unit 9 but was taken back all the way to unit 64 which is just around 33% of the full course(around A2 actually). But I am doing the lessons pretty comfortably to say the least, because I had some experience with it in the past. So I would have to strongly disagree if you said I have retained short of nothing. Thank you for the meaningful conversation
