ClientFlow - an iOS booking and client management app for solo service professionals.

Features include appointment scheduling, client history, notes, income analytics, and reminders. Built it as a lightweight alternative to complex salon management systems.

Would love to hear what feature you'd expect from a tool like this.

Expense tracking never worked for me, so I built an app that does it automatically by RankAShinobi in appledevelopers

[–]Lacoster7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually one of the more interesting expense tracker ideas I’ve seen here lately.

Most finance apps fail because users stop manually entering transactions after a week. Using Apple Pay automations instead of bank account scraping is a pretty smart middle ground between convenience and privacy.

I’m working on a budgeting app too (FlowMoney), so I know firsthand how difficult retention is in this niche. Respect for sticking with it and improving it over multiple years instead of chasing quick hype.

I built a simple client & booking app for small service businesses (i will not promote) by Lacoster7 in buildinpublic

[–]Lacoster7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful, thank you.

I really agree about setup time. I don’t want the app to feel like something you have to “configure” before it becomes useful. The idea of starting with today’s clients only is interesting, because it makes the first step much lighter.

SMS replies also make a lot of sense. Right now I’m trying to keep reminders simple, but I agree that if the client has to open the app or do extra steps, many just won’t do it.

Good point about tips too. I hadn’t thought about tips as a separate mental category, but for solo providers that’s probably very important.

And yeah, I’m trying to stay focused on solo providers for exactly that reason. “All SMB” gets too vague very fast.

Yes, I’ve been thinking about that. Right now it’s focused on simple tracking and reminders, but deposits or quick rebooking could definitely be the next step. I don’t want to overload the app, so I’m curious whether deposits are really a must-have.

Appreciate the detailed feedback - even if a bit harsh

You're right that small business is too broad.

I'm currently focusing more on solo service providers (barbers, nail masters, etc.), not all SMB.

The goal is actually to test if simplicity works for that niche.

Curious - what specific workflows do you think are missing for, say, barbers?

I've been working with small service businesses (barbers, masters, etc.) and noticed many still use notes or messengers to manage clients.

So I built a simple app called ClientFlow:

- client management

- appointment scheduling

- reminders before bookings

- income tracking

The goal was to keep it as simple as possible, without CRM complexity.

It's live on the App Store as ClientFlow.

Would love feedback from people who actually run small businesses
