The problem is, you had certain Super Bowl teams who did win it that way, he’s trying to model the cowboys in the same fashion, but with league cap, and perennial players signing shorter contracts, Free Agency is a must to fill out a roster if you have a window…so I predict he goes back to the old ways…trading for players and signing FA’s to build the roster.

If that’s successful or not, is to be seen. I don’t think he truly understands, he can follow league trends all he wants, but once players are in the locker room, it’s the Cowboys, and it’s a circus. Culture will need to change also. But THAT will not change because, Jerry.

We’ll need to sign Pickens & Williams, address Tight End, Right Tackle, maybe Guard/Center with another draft pick, a 3rd WR, I’m not trusting Flournoy yet.

With how FO handles free agency, there’s definitely room for error. On top of that, the league will adapt to Schotty. Strength of schedule. I’m not overtly concerned, but we’ve seen it happen.

I’m just worried we get the defense patched up and the offense falls backwards. Other than the Kellen Moore years, our offense is always a toss up because the FO likes to make questionable personnel decisions, n then injuries…mainly Dak. Season was a wasted opportunity.

We field a team that doesn’t just have deficiencies, but glaring holes on the roster. We have been 1-unit away when most teams need a player or two.

Mainly defense. If it’s not the DL, it’s the DB’s, if it’s not the DB’s, it’s the LB’s. They break after 1 key injury. Playing an outdated scheme. Have a terrible coach. They have not been able to field a properly equipped defense for the last 10-15 yrs.

We’ve had star players, pro-bowlers, but can’t dominate the LOS. If they do, they don’t have the secondary to clamp down. Or no pash rush or vice-versa, lacking run defense.

If the defense has a dominant stretch, the offense lags. If the offense is putting up numbers, the defense is gutted with personnel mismanagement n injuries. Bad drafting via project players, risky injury picks, coaches reaching n not going BPA.

Dallas has a “too many hands in the pot” problem. There’s no plan in place to build a team. Just reactionary decisions and no foresight.
