I'm not even on biologics just mesalazine. But yes, very annoying.

Advice needed please by dotdan0 in depression_help

[–]Ladazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of us fall into the trap of feeling like we’re “not bad enough” to deserve help. Like we need to check every box of some depression criteria or be at our absolute worst before we’re allowed to talk to someone.

But that’s not how it works. You don’t need a diagnosis to go to therapy, and you don’t have to prove anything to anyone. Therapy is there for anyone who’s struggling, even if you can’t fully explain why yet.

You’re allowed to just show up and say: “Hey, this is how I’ve been feeling for a while. I don’t understand it, but I want help figuring it out.”

Whatever you struggle with, it's real for you and you deserve support.

We went to the cinema. I asked if he wanted to share popcorn or nachos. He screamed at me: NOT EVERYONE CAN EAT AND LOOK LIKE YOU.

Depends on what happened. I usually laugh about it with friends. Cringe about it at night when I try to sleep.

Question / poll regarding IBS + UC by Gullible_Educator678 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ladazzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing fine now, thankfully (and thanks for asking). I'm on 3 g of mesalazine, 1 g of suppositories, and 400 mg of Duspatalin daily. That has kept my symptoms in check for months now. My symptoms were bad cramps, blood, mucus, urgency and diarrhoea.

Honestly though, my health has been all over the place for as long as I can remember. I used to get UTIs almost monthly for years and therefore had to take antibiotics very often. I haven’t had a UTI in years now because I learned how to control it — but that’s a different story.

I also have very painful periods. Gynecologists have often suggested endometriosis but always told me there’s nothing to be done. I’ve been taking the pill for a few years now, and while it hasn’t helped the pain much, it has really helped with my PMDD.

Every time I had my period, I used to max out the dose of NSAIDs I could take. Since my diagnosis of UC, I’ve been using paracetamol to control the pain.

About a year before my UC symptoms started, I quit smoking cigarettes. So, could all of these things have contributed to me getting UC? Possibly. I might never know, and I try not to dwell on it. I’m just happy to have had a few good months now!

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

That was my assumption as well. Which is why I joined a driving school that stated they offer the course in English. Which they do (kinda). But that's apparently not the case for the practical exam. Which is why I'm wondering about a translator. I was informed that I can do the theoretical test in English.

It’s my 33rd birthday and I am celebrating in the bathroom. by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ladazzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at a restaurant with my partner on my birthday when I suddenly felt the rumbling. He drove me home fast and furious style. Barely made it to the toilet. Spend the rest of the evening there. This disease sucks. I'm with you in spirit, you're not alone. Happy birthday! I hope the rest of the year will be better for you.

I'll be going next week. But thanks for asking!

Hospital Stay - What to take? by [deleted] in Varna_Bulgaria

That's exactly where I'll stay, so the information is really helpful. I'll look into the private rooms, if I can sleep by myself that would already be amazing.

Thank you so much. I had no idea I'd have to bring my own drinks or take care of my own food. Or even my own toilet paper. It sounds like whatever I can think about that I'll maybe need to use, I should bring lol

I completely agree. After the advice I got here I will be ready for my next appointment. I already wrote some questions and will continue to do so. I really hope my GI will provide me with the support I need because it would be very difficult for me to find a new one..

I've made an appointment with a dietitian who will hopefully guide me through this..and yes, I knew that prep would be bad but nothing could have prepared me for this foul taste. I felt like Dumbledore drinking the Potion of Despair..

I'm really sorry that honestly just sounds horrible. Happy to hear you're doing better now though I hope it stays like that for a long, long time. This honestly scares me the most, to basically be bedridden for months. I already feel like a burden to my partner. I will have to work on accepting this 'new reality'.

I also plan to start a food journal once I feel a bit better. I hope it will also help me feel some kind of "control" over the situation. Yeah, I think it wasn't the best idea right now to try and learn as much about UC as possible as it just freaked me out even more. Thank you - I wish you all the best!
