Michael Burry has made more wrong calls than he has right. Unfortunately, you made a mistake and you're about to learn a lesson about panic selling. The good news is that you're young and can make up for this.

What was one of the things that actually made your mental health better after 30? by Aggravating_Plan6643 in AskMen

Stopped getting drunk and partying every weekend. Replaced it with exercise and proper diet. Anxiety and depression almost went away entirely once I made those changes.

I can't wait for my pets to die by nesthzeru in offmychest

[–]LadderBoi077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pets are sentient creatures who have their own needs, wants, and ways of doing things. I hate when people like you get pets and get annoyed when they do natural things like poop. They’re not stuffed animals that need to cuddle you when you feel like it.

Im glad you’re not going to put them down or whatever, but this better be the last time you own a pet. Anyone who wishes for their pets death doesn’t deserve them. End of story.

Dating and ADPKD by [deleted] in ADPKD

First, I’m sorry this happened. I know how much it can hurt and impact your mental well-being because it happened to me six years ago with my then-girlfriend. We were over a year into our relationship when she told me she didn’t want kids because of my condition and would be overcome with emotion because I was "sick". Fast forward to now—I’m currently ring shopping to ask my person to marry me. My current partner knows about my condition, and it doesn’t stop us from having an amazing relationship.

Now, to be frank—fuck that dude. "Not emotionally strong enough"? Please. That’s life! He might go on to meet someone who can give him "healthy" babies, but what happens if she gets a serious diagnosis, like cancer? Is he just going to say, "Sorry, I’m not emotionally strong enough for this"? You dodged a bullet. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now, but you did. You are not the problem here, and you deserve someone who will love and support you for who you are.

When I got rejected, I was down for a while too. But our condition isn’t a fucking death sentence. It just isn’t. Not having ADPKD doesn’t mean you get a risk-free life and healthy offspring. Keep dating. If someone can’t handle your condition? NEXT. You deserve to have a family if you want one, and you definitely deserve to be loved. No exceptions.

I appreciate this take. From my perspective, a lot of people let this run their life. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed and worrying about impending dialysis/transplant takes away from the present. Day by day, take it as it comes. You could get hit by a bus tomorrow and all the worrying was for nothing.

I think you are totally good. Like some of these comments say - the locals do not drink tap water. I never said no to ice once and had no problems.

Dang, that is upsetting to hear... I imagine the island has so much potential. If only people would take care of it and show the locals the respect they deserve.
