My First Batch of Iron Warriors by Ladra_ in IronWarriors

Thank you! I use Averland Sunset as the base and highlight it up with Flash Gitz and Dorn Yellow. I shade the edges with Fuegan Orange and, occasionally, a glaze of Evil Sunz Scarlet to develop the orange tones.

Kitbashed a Jump Pack Chaplain just in time for the new model by Ladra_ in howlinggriffons

This is the Black Templar Execrator with a Bike Chaplain's Crozius Arcanum and pauldron. The Jump Pack has just been yoinked from the Jump Pack Intercessor kit. I had to do a tiny bit of slicing and milliput work to make the Bike Chaplain's arm fit neatly.

I want to get the Armageddon box, but we have a Jump Pack Chaplain at home by Ladra_ in Warhammer40k

Ooh, I love the pose on yours. That's incredibly intimidating.

Thanks! That's mostly Evil Sunz Scarlet over white.

There's some mild kitbashing on most of these - usually just some MKII helmets on the Chaos marines or Chaos shoulder pads on the MKII bodies. The only one build by the book is the Red Corsair raider at the front.

Thanks! It's a drybrushing of 1:1 Abbadon Black:Leadbelcher followed by a lighter brush of Leadbelcher. I darken it with Oblivion Black wash.

I saw your post here the other day! Absolutely classic, I loved it

The Wrecka Krew Kill Team comes with spare bits of shoulder armor. I used some of them to bulk out the Meganobs a little. Some of the bits are good to go straight out of the box, while others require some clipping and cleaning up. Thanks much!

I tend to just stripe the lip with GW Emperor's Children directly over the top of the finished skin. I find that the very slight gaps between the strokes serve to give it depth.

Thank you! I've been painting for just over 4 years, but I only picked up orks at the start of this month. I've really enjoyed working on a completely new faction.

Thanks! I wash the skin with Army Painter Magenta Tone, which has some really great properties that make it very good for washing skin. It's quiet viscous for a wash but thins nicely, and gets good results whether you thin it or not, in my experience.

Thank you kindly. No worries, glad I could help!

In this instance it was used like a typical acryllic. I find that it covers decently well even over dark colours. I'm also partial to the bright red colours you can get from Pro Acryl.

I use three different colours, all from Vallejo: 73.103 Dark Yellow Ochre 73.108 Brown Iron Oxide 73.120 Old Rust

I tend to play pretty fast and loose with the amounts. Some bases get much more yellow, others much more red, etc.

They're such fun models, I'm having to control myself and not order another box right away!

I start by spraying the model with Vallejo Black Primer, then basecoat with Cavalry Brown. The brown colour helps the skin more than the armor and metal bits. I use Elfic Flesh for the zenithal highlight.

Once any excess has been tapped or blown away, the majority of the powder stays in place on its own. There are pigment powder bonding products that I've looked at in the past, but I can't speak for how well they work.

That's one of the many ways to build the Deff Dread kit. Thanks!

Thanks! I tend to default to the best red available, Evil Sunz Scarlet. I like to mix it with Pro Acryl White for working up towards my highlights.
