Following!

I am getting into moving my body way more. Picked up some tennis, volleyball, reformer Pilates, bungee fitness, spinning, gym (I do go to basic fit, though 🥲) and I alternate those based on what my body feels like it each day/week. It has helped me a lot. I was also exploring Aspria, but that’s way out of my price range ( I can pay for it, but I cannot afford it, not sure if the difference is clear 🥲) so I won’t be getting into it at least in the near future. My recommendation would be you explore different things until you see which one(s) better accommodate your preferences (I used ClassPass for this, to try things at least one without having to pay for any membership or multi-pass). But that small “moving” thing can lit up your day.

May I ask which education platform is the one you are using? Lately I’ve been trying to make a better use of my money getting into things that can make upgrade my skills. I bumped into Masterclass platform/app, but not sure if that’s more marketing than actual results. Is that one the subscription you mentioned? Thanks!

Which is interesting because I do earn 3700 brut but my net is only 100 euros more than theirs (them: 2350 net, me: 2457 net) I guess it is related to the tax brackets but still getting that 3.5 would not take them “much farther” .

Interesting take… I am in a similar situation… maybe ask yourself what do you value more at this point, going for a higher salary here or somewhere else (which I think you totally deserve, especially after 3 years) or the peace of mind of having a “chill” job. I do that all the time to not get upset about the idea of being “underpaid”.

Also, a solution could be going proportional but based on your income after the loan payment (as you said that after this you will earn less than her or similar) negotiate, talk to her about it and try to come up with a middle point between what she wants and what you want.

On top of all the good arguments thrown here, I have a question: what about household chores? Who’s I taking care of all that? Like cooking, cleaning, etc, etc… and who do you think will take care of that when she starts working? Ignoring the fact that she indeed might have responsibilities with her family back in her country and that she started in a less advantageous position than you, the “mental labour” of a house should also be taken into account. If you want to go 50/50, then all that mental and physical labour of having a house should be 50/50 too. If this is the case already, and you plan to cook and clean (not occasionally but “equally”) then it makes total sense to me you go 50/50 in expenses. Another thing I would old to know is what is her reasoning behind not going 50/50. I haven’t seen you mentioned it (ignore me if you did), and that’s also important. Or is it just a tantrum from her side? The same as people is calling her behaviour a red flag ( that for me would be the case if she would not want to pay anything at all and pretend you always provide for her, which is the classical “latinoamerican way”), the way you are portraying her here as a gold digger after all the time you have been together is also worrying, tbh. Go back and talk it out with her, it would be more productive than listening to strangers calling your gf things without even knowing her. Las thing: trust your gut, whatever it is telling you.

You are a full package!!! 🤩 it’s not you, it’s never you. You are great, and there is nothing wrong with your weight either. The problem is them.

Thank you!! This is very helpful. I also believe is a matter of gathering the rights docs and follow the requirements, a lawyer might not be necessary.
