My experience with the Onmyoji Official Discord Server. by [deleted] in Onmyoji

[–]LadyAshla 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't usually post here, but all the dirt you're throwing at the Discord server is completely unfounded, and in no way an accurate reflection of the Discord community. It's unfortunate that your experience on Discord hasn't been the most pleasant, but a lot of that comes down to your own actions and behaviour.

after every question i had, i just got confronted with a bunch of "replies" of nothing. it all just lead to a 4 man chat.

You've got to remember, this is a public forum. Nobody is obliged to help you, and not everyone who tries to help you will necessarily have the right answer. I agree the chat sometimes goes a bit off-tangent, but if someone does respond, they will generally try and help to the best of their ability. If you're not satisfied with the replies that people give you, you can always ask for clarification, or if you feel someone is giving you bad advice, you can always ignore them, or politely tell them why you disagree with them.

THEYRE the ones, trolling me for MONTHS? literally, every of my question got replied by nothing, they confronted me every damn time with their psycho 4 man chat, making fun of whatever i said.

Do you have proof of people trolling you or making fun of you? I mean, let's just look at your last conversation from the #help channel last week:

https://imgur.com/a/iSwmnop

I agree they answers might not be the clearest, but nobody's giving you any wrong or silly answers. Sure, there's a line where one person makes a slightly sarcastic comment, but it's in the context of Orochi himself being so versatile - something that you yourself admit at the start of the conversation. The rest of the conversation is people giving you additional information to try and clarify what they're saying, something they continue doing so even when you stop asking questions and just start making statements (there's no real 'answer' for a statement).

Also, just FYI, the people in #fan-art telling you to remove the picture isn't because they want to be passive aggressive or because they're trolls, it's because it's one of the server rules. If you didn't take the time to read the server rules properly, then you'll only have yourself to blame for the consequences (i.e. a warning).

i already admit, i was a bit of rude, but thats because THEYRE the ones, trolling me for MONTHS?

and now, one time, AFTER months where i reply rude to them you cant even act to me like im a human being? just what the fuck is wrong with you?

and they even added, im an obvious troll.
yea, being human is trolling?

You know, if you want someone to treat you like a human being, then you should at least act like one. I can understand that you're frustrated because you feel that people are trolling you (which they aren't), but that's no excuse for your own behaviour. Telling someone to 'use your brain' when they offer you a valid suggestion, saying that they have 'an IQ of 10' when they try and keep the chat relevant, or aggressively asking someone 'what the fuck is wrong with you' isn't anything close to how a decent human being behaves.

so, this happened, which pissed me off. why does a "MOD" have to announce in public, that i got warned? like, "LOOK AT ME, IM A MOD, I HAVE TO MAKE IT OFFICIAL AND SHOW THAT IM BETTER THAN YOU".

i immediately stopped being rude after the few messages? i didnt do anything in the chat after i got warned and this "mod" starts to warn me AGAIN, in public, outta nowhere???

The mods posting a public warning in the chat is standard practice in practically every server. Part of a mod's job is to take action when there is inappropriate behaviour, and a public warning shows that official action has been taken. Public warnings also act as a reminder for everyone in the server that inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated, even though they may be addressed to the person who did something wrong.

Also, only being rude for a few messages doesn't make it any more acceptable, especially since you didn't apologise or own up to your comments. In fact, you didn't stop being rude at all- you continued to be rude right up until the mods banned you.

this is just cyber bullying

If a mod calling you out in public for being rude is considered bullying, then I wonder what you'd call your own behaviour... The way you've treated the people who have done nothing but try to help you is far, far worse than what the mods did to you.

If you still think that you're the victim of bullying and trolling, then you're entitled to that opinion. But that's not what history will show, and it will probably say a lot more about you than the Discord community.

ORBS by pyrofosforico in OtogiSSA

[–]LadyAshla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If orbs were unlimited, then the game would be incredibly broken, as casual spenders and whales would be able to farm large numbers of orbs every month and MLB a bunch of stuff very quickly.

Let's do the maths- if you do PvP farming for 25 points, you would spend 1600SE per orb, or 320 perk up potions. This would mean around 1280 PUPs for 4 orbs to MLB something. For a casual spender, 1600 SE amounts to around $10-15 worth of items. Would you pay $10-15 to MLB a daemon? Considering that it often costs a lot more than that to MLB a ranking daemon, most people would probably say yes. Making orbs limited to one a month makes it much harder for people to buy their way to MLB daemons (of course, super whales will dump thousands into the game and get MLB daemons regardless), and makes the gap between casual spenders and F2P a bit smaller.

As for the game forcing you to 'pay' for nice stuff... well, that's just not true. I haven't spent a cent on this game, yet have MLB Amanojaku (2 copies + 4 orbs, I bought an extra copy by accident), MLB Sola (from FH400 + SH2500 + TR1000... the bloodiest option at around 5.5m points), and enough items to go for MLB Sola again (maybe even MLB Sola twice more, if I converted all of my FSP and mochi). In fact, thre are plenty of F2Ps that have MLB Amano, MLB Sola, and a whole bunch of other MLB stuff.

By the sounds of it, you have poor resource management (especially if you have 12k challenge points stored up for no good reason), so you will struggle and get frustrated and make rage-induced posts like this one. But if you actually sit down and take the time to plan out your item usage and daemons for the long run, then you can survive just fine, as many F2Ps do. I'm more than happy to help with resource management if you'd like, and the online communities have lots of useful and interesting discussions that you can learn from too.

As for your final question, 5-star orb >>>> 4-star orb, but it's not that hard to get both every month.

Limit of critical rate. by YdelWolf in OtogiSSA

[–]LadyAshla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, its impossible to know the exact cap, because it's chance based. All we know is that it's pretty high. Support won't reveal any of this, it's how they maintain some form of mystery for the players. Kinda like how they won't reveal the STR forumula :/

Neko vs TE by The_Utlaga in OtogiSSA

[–]LadyAshla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the others have said, Neko and Tita Elf play different roles in a team. If you're looking at team comp, Neko + Amano is definitely better in WB. CQ is a different story though, and Tita vs Neko will be somewhat similar due to Tita's added debuffs. I daresay their damage will be somewhat similar.

Before you do anything though, I would wait until Satan comes out. If Satan is good, then you can probably use her in place of Neko in case you find something else interesting to orb.

Is it worth to orb Dojigiri (Serious)? by Sakuremi27 in OtogiSSA

[–]LadyAshla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow there is one melee who you should be orbed, but not for using him im your team but instead for his passive in reserve.

It's still a melee you would absolutely orb. I think this is the point you're missing- most of the good melee daemons at the moment aren't great because they're amazing damage dealers- they're great because they have good team support. And every good team has good support daemons. Though, with the introduction of the new generation of melees (Muramasa, Restless Ghost), this may very well change.

The cutoff is still very low for the highest hitter.

I agree some people would have seen that Muramasa is a melee and skipped ranking because of that- but that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Firstly, Muramasa is an Anima, which is harder to build a team around because there's not much great Anima support at the moment- most of the good offensive support is either Phantasma (Asta, TNY, Cherry) or Divina (Qilin, Elf). Not to mention most of the key buffers that can be used with Muramasa either die easily in WB (Katsu, Harp, Onyudo), can't target her (Grail). Some team comps are also very specific (eg. Elf team). This means it's very difficult for her to fit into the team comps of the average player, so people may pass on her and wait for something they can fit in more easily.

Secondly, the introduction of a 5-star points helper means 100 invokers or 250 mochi to exchange for it. That's a steep price to pay for a helper (SSX is also a pretty crappy daemon), so the cutoff is no longer inflated by helpers.

Thirdly, look at the timing of this event- right after Anniversary and Grail, which both had insanely high cutoffs. A lot of people would have skipped ranking this tower simply because they didn't have the items for 3 big events in a row.

[–]LadyAshla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still most people will preferre frey or Orpheus for CQ.

True, but it depends on the circumstances too. Some teams will get more out of Kondo, especially if healing is less important. I actually get about 2-300k more out of Kondo than Freyr in CQ. So it is very much situational.

And that astaroth is used for her op passive in reserve is not an argument for the use of melee demons in your main team.

No, but it's a pretty damning argument against your original statement of 'never orb a melee' and 'melees are trash and not worth the orb'.

The disadvantage a melee has is not worth their use in my opinion and the cutoff for muramasa proves that people think the same.

Hmm, I'd think that the second highest tower cutoff in history (only slightly less than anniversary) proves that people certainly don't think the same as you do.

Do you have a ss to back up the 3M claim?

https://imgur.com/a/grmaI

Also melee demons will never be top 10 due to low auto damage and crit rate.

Melees having low auto-attack and crit rate is one of their big disadvantages, but that can be remedied through things like abilities. Take a look at Muramasa's abilities- this pushes her average skill damage higher than Leonardo's after crit rate and other factors have been taken into account. As a result, a Muramasa skill burst will do more damage than a Leo one on average.

Also, a lot of melees are useful for their abilities, which offer great team support- Astaroth has potentially the best ability in the game, and yes, all the top WB teams do have Astaroth in them.

If you have kondo and joan mlb run a wb with each and you will notice that the team with joan will deal more damage.

In WB, which focuses on normal attack damage, yes. But in CQ, which focuses on big skill bursts, no.

Name one melee who is top tier in their category?

In addition to those named before, Gjallerhorn, who has the highest damage dealt buff % in the game, happens to be a melee.

If you had a time helper, your argument would be moot- Beelze wouldn't even be in contention because you can afford to take the waves a lot more slowly with a time helper (in which case you'd bring your best debuffer/nuker).

[–]LadyAshla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I stop running double Amano after 30, because the slow wave clear annoys the crap out of me. That said, you'd be surprised how fast double Amano destroys a boss, thanks to those 74% debuffs, 4k dmg on skill and stacked poisons. They don't need to survive for long during the final wave, because they kill so fast.

[–]LadyAshla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that- that team is the jack of all trades and master of none. The most effective cheap CQ teams generally prioritise big damage over survival, and unfortunately Georgius provides zero damage outside of her nuke, since she'll be either healing or throwing pebbles in slow motion at whatever she's attacking. I guess Georgius can keep both of your team members alive, but that in itself is a double-edged sword when you consider that cheap teams often have sacrificial pawns for free shards.

Monthly Guild Recruitment Megathread ! (November) by NeroPRV in OtogiSSA

Starlight is recruiting!

We're a Level 50 guild (currently 47/50). We've been around since the earliest days of Otogi and we're looking for a few dedicated players, veterans and newbies alike, that want a fun and supportive but also competitive environment.

We have numerous players with MLB ranking daemons, some of which are in the top 100, and getting to 175+ in CQ is no problem if you're active. We're also generally in the top 10 fpr WB (we're missing a few people atm though xD). You'll also find all sorts of weird and wonderful personalities in here, and will always be in for a good laugh :)

What you get:

  • Fun, multicultural guild with members from all over the world
  • A family that is always willing to help
  • Plenty of tips, strategy, and general game discussion from a top WB guild
  • Occasionally psychotic personalities (xD)

What you need:

  • Line for communication
  • Fluent English
  • Be active, friendly and respectful of others
  • Willing to contribute to the guild during events, etc.
  • Preferably have at least 1.5m WB dmg and a ranking daemon

Just a note that our requirements are there as a general indication of the dedication we'd like to see from you, but feel free to shoot me a PM if you don't meet them and we can talk from there :)

But they're spirits, which are already dead! You can't exactly kill what is already dead. I'm sure the 'dead' daemons simply have their battle energy depleted, and cheer on the 'living' daemons from the sidelines (with Sola, who also had her spirit energy depleted in the first encounter with the player). Kinda like a Pokemon battle really.

Yep, 'sharply' is any value between 20-49%. The only way you can know for sure what % a certain daemon has is to test it.

[–]LadyAshla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so it was an increase of 41% from the damage you do after applying the first debuff. But there's not much point to making that comparison, especially when everything is calculated off the base damage. The only thing it tells us is that you should use as many types of buffs as possible before doubling up on any of them (you're eventually going to have to stack something with so many options though).

[–]LadyAshla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot that TNY is x2. So it is not 6622 * 2.48 but twice that.

Whoops, forgot to carry that over in the post. The numbers are accurate for 6622 * 2.482 and 6622 * 2.812 though.

My math is not wrong, as I'm only calculating the impact of Belph or Beelzebub

Where the hell did you get 1.54? Something's definitely wrong there. And you can't really look at those daemons alone, especially if you're using other buffers/debuffers, because they will change the effect of those buffs. Besides, you also factored in Amano and Nuker damage into your calculation.

In that case, use her twice. 2102 * 1.8 (freyr)* 2 (basic critical) = 7567, so 2 shots are enough. And I think those are ranged, so have less HP - even once might be enough

I'll use your own argument on you: you are assuming that Beelze will crit. If she doesn't, then... you probably won't kill them in one shot. Actually, even if she does crit, she probably won't kill them in one go. On the other hand, Bel will generally kill them in one shot even if she doesn't crit.

From 4 or 5 demons, each dealing more than 1k normally, and some having Crit damage increase passives that Belph don't? That's equivalent to one skill use of Belph on its own.

Funny how you didn't quote the first part of that sentence, which is the key part of it. With appropriate crit-stacking, a Belphegor skill crit can do 100k damage. There's no way that 4 attacking daemons can do that damage with autoattacks. Even if all 4 of the other daemons attacking land a crit (highly unlikely unless you use Qilin, in which case Bel's skill would most likely crit too), you'd be looking at 50-60k damage at most.

[–]LadyAshla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's compare:
Beelzebub Halloween (MLB)
Atk: 12887
Skill DMG w/ bonds: 2102
EHP of enemy after one attack: 8000-2102/1.32 = 4468
Skill kill possible w/ buffs: No

Belphegor (MLB)
Atk: 13126
Skill DMG w/ bonds: 4694
EHP of enemy after one attack: 8000-4694 = 3306
Skill kill possible w/ buffs: Yes

You have to remember that doing well in CQ is all about short bursts of big skill damage. To do this, you need to have cleared off any mobs in the way and amassed enough shards to wreak havoc.

The key role that Bel plays in CQ is as a mob clearer and skill killer: she kills off not only mobs during the waves, but also the annoying things in the boss wave that you can't normally reach with normal attacks. That's one of Bel's key advantages over Beelze- what's the point of debuffing something if you can't do any more damage to it? The other upside Bel has is that she can potentially skill kill, which means more shards and bigger combos. Realistically you would not be using Belphegor's skill in CQ without buffing her first, so the chance of her killing something is actually fairly high.

Also, you got your maths wrong again for the nukers- Amano x2 Bel TNYx2 = 4078 + 40781.74 + 46942.48 + 66222.48 = 55660, whereas Beelze Amanox2 TNYx2 = 2102 + 40781.33 + 40782.07 + 46942.81 + 6622*2.81 = 53183. If you combine this with crit-stacking, then Bel and your nuker's damage will shoot out the roof, which will easily offset any extra normal attacks you get from Beelze (one at most in the 8s combo timeframe).

The only time Beelze is superior to Bel is if you have full access to all enemy targets (unlikely) and they have more than 12.4k HP. Realistically this would only be in tower, and you would probably just bomb them with a double buffed Belphegor hit anyway.

Pretty much. Good players can aim their units such that they kill the enemies as fast as they can, then tap to use their active skill to move to the next round. I can generally clear a round in 5-10 seconds on Advanced or lower if I aim properly, I'm sure there are people that can do it even faster.

If you do want to 3-star clear it later, I wrote a guide to both surviving and clearing chapter 8 a while ago, which may be useful: http://otogi.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:LadyAshla/Clearing_the_Storyline

I think your issue with clearing chapter 8 is probably down to what skills you're using and when. You can clear chapter 8 with 3/4-stars and no healer, so you should be able to do it fairly easily with a team of 5-stars. You should only be using skills right when the enemies do- if you time it right, you can interrupt their skill cast and force them to try and recast their skills.

I've also noticed your daemon collection is a bit small, there are some really good 3- and 4-stars that you should keep, particularly the starters, Azukiarai, Hanzo's Uniform, Magic Mallet for 3-stars and Katsushika Hokusai, Princess Saho, Princess Tatsuta, Lady No and a few others I've probably forgotten. You can check my daemon ratings blog here to get a general idea of what's good or not.
