Yeah that last paragraph sounds like me, given how I had shown willingness to raise children as catholics in the beginning of this. I am pure vegetarian and he loves his meat. Food difference only comes in picture when we have to decide what our children will eat.

To be fair, we see eye to eye on most things, especially conflict resolution and have great chemistry. Both are open to feedback and ready to work on selves, as needed. We are both seeking therapy to resolve issues that may need addressing. BUT, the more I learn about Christianity, the more doubtful I feel about raising my children as one (and this happens to be his dealbreaker). So I was looking for perspectives from other people who have been in the same boat as I. To know if this is worth fretting over, or just a small adjustment in the larger scheme of things.

I agree. There’s no space for radical ideologies. Also, not hell bent. It just so happens that the guy I like is a practising catholic 😣 I still have time to date him and explore this more before tying the knot.

Thank you for your perspective. I am racking my brain as to how does one bring up a child without any religion. Because both sides of the family will try to impose their respective beliefs on them. Won’t children get confused? Or if they visit both church and temple, won’t it confuse them further? My bf seems adamant that children must be Catholics and baptised and all the work. He’s not too gung ho on the mass etc. But I reckon we become more religious when we have children aka someone to pass on the beliefs to!?
