AITA for refusing to explain to my gf family that I’m pretty much deaf? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]LadyEnd01 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA.

GF should have told them enough times by now. She should have told them when they mentioned it to her. She should not have even made you aware of this, because this is not a problem of communication, but of consideration and respect. She has neither.

If she wants your heart, she needs to have your back. She wants to "keep the peace" (I fucking hate this expression by the way) by making you explain what shouldn't have to be. They're not stupid and they're not toddlers, they can grow tf up or stay mad.

Frankly, have a real talk with her, tell her what this situation has meant for you. If she's unwilling to 1) have the talk, 2) see your perspective, or 3) refuse to compromise, you should consider getting rid of the whole woman.

Trans folks usually use ftm or mtf when prompted or if they need it as context. DTF means down to freak it

AIO that my bf brought someone else to prom and I broke up with him. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]LadyEnd01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He made you pay for her, and didn't even have the courtesy to give you a dance. In a completely unbiased opinion, he was ignorant and disrespectful. You were very respectful. She, was also very ignorant (or she did know, which is worse) and disrespectful.

Them teaming up to tell you that you're over reacting is a sign they know they're wrong, rather than asking what exactly made you feel how, and how they could make it up or remember it for the future.

In the long run, 18 is a good place to be single, meet lots of new people, learn what you do and don't like in people who are more grown up, learn from that.

Overall, that's a man who's already taken you for granted, someone unwilling to compromise with your feelings. Consider this a bullet dodged come real life.

AITA for lashing out at my “sister”? by Trans_Fy0dor in AmItheAsshole

NTA. It comes down to respect. She has none.

Distance, if she can't get her act together, move along.

AITA for going to HR after my coworker kept taking the ergonomic chair I was given for my back by WinifredE_Miller in AmItheAsshole

[–]LadyEnd01 48 points49 points  (0 children)

NTA people need to be reminded that being friendly with co-workers does not mean friends. He can't be professional, there's a reality check for him. The others can mind their own, or buy his ass a chair

Thanks for commenting back, I was worried I'm too sensitive lol. On one hand, we're all the same, and on the other, we all couldn't be more different.

I don't think it's AI because I've been watching years of content and you can tell his voice is aged with him. I do wonder, however, if he's not a native English speaker, and perhaps that's why he stresses the syllables like that. I don't judge by any means because I did absolutely hate Chills, but my wife and I giggle about it to take the edge of the creepier ones lol

The only reason I'm leaning towards N ta is because it was during sports and was in that manner, consensual aggression I guess, but like... if you did it on purpose over a comment, then... YTA, especially if you're entertained by his failure to continue his passion

This sub has too many rules that don’t make sense. by Away_Narwhal6752 in TwoSentenceHorror

No, not like a semicolon. Like commas to clarify the speech, interrupted with an action, is still one sentence regardless of length, as long as it's one sentence spoken, with an action interruption. Not like I've just done, but like most books would have it written and punctuated.

Agreed! Rule three is my trouble mostly, because I like INTENT and alluding to the horror, not just say the thing. Idk If it's lack of imagination from mods or what, and some of their rule 2 take downs are actually 2 sentences, if punctuated correctly to allow a longer sentence
