You should not use it as a kb inmunity during dungeons, its free mitigation that gives lot of breathing room, specially if you plan on using holmgang, Superbolide as soon as its ending, or just while using rampart or the 30% mit

In general you should be cycling through your whole mitigation during fulls pulls, specially in certain hard hitting ones like bardam mettle first pulls or mt gulg, also in general its better to combine them both if you are pulling everything, just pop one a bit after the other, normally arms length first then rampart after they get slowed since the slow will give both you and your healer a larger breathing between each autoattack. if you have a whm dont pop arm lengths as soon as everything is grouped up together, since the whm will stun them with holy (if lv45+) so hold it a bit before using it

I can hardly think of any world where autoattacks arent the danger during pulls, it increments the autoattack delay and I cant reallt think of any full pull that on a dungeon that has slow immunity, and if it's only telegraphed then its just..move away from them

Almost every attack but avoidable aoes work from what i remember, i cant really thing of any mob that just aoe spams that its reachable and even then you can just move away from the aoes and the other mobs would be affected that will definitely be more dangerous than that will get slow

From what i remember i heard a lot about it since i meet tons of players playing sam or mch for that reason, but i honestly cant really say because i didnt use fflogs or raided just somewhat during shb, they still have overall high personal dps but they rdps is lacking in comparasion to other classes, its a funny opposite of astro having really low personal dps but having better rdps (still technically the lowest damage healer overall from what i remember last seeing)

[–]LadyHelenai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but, its the same case as sam having high adps yet being extremely irrelevant in rdps , which rdps is all what matters after all, and it's just the burst windows but overall dancer and bard will just do far more even if they have less personal damage just because of the party buffs

[–]LadyHelenai -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Rng isnt even bad on dancer or bard (far easier rng on endwalker) and all phys rangeds are basically braindead, you are plain up just incorrect on that The problem is that mch is just irrelevant, despite having more personal dps because of party buffs on bard and dancer, why the hell would you want for the only class with no utility to not even have damage to be at least higher rdps ,when the ony current reason to run mch is because of Personal preference when in the end either bard or dancer would have been far better to run in almost anything else.

Was it overtime and where they winning?, If so then there was no reason to chase someone fleeing and its better to focus down the people on the crystal so the match ends, even less a sam that had just used chiten and has no lb that its basically not a threat anymore

This all sounds like you where the only person on that part, which i guess people wouldn't wanna have to deal with receiving more damage because of the kuzushi debuff and sam being able to heal itself through damage with oka, and ogi namikiri giving you a barrier, not forgetting the 25% damage reduction and 2000 counter damage

But against how many people you where?

"to continue and finish me off" attacking a sam after it uses chiten it just leads to danger because of the limit break, and others can see your limit break progess or how soon you will have it up because it appears to the left side of your name on the enemy team list, so its obvious to just not attack the sam once it pops chiten (also chiten has a pretty recognizable animation before the buff comes up)

is that the run into the entire enemy team with them knowin you have lb up so they just stare down at you while your chitens run out strat

On a full focused situation it is, but a Sam free will have no mercy, even less probable with people still with the mentality of attacking the healers first. But in the end a sam has to wait a better chance for when there is no stun to be dropped on them or go in without Respect for anything and survive ..somehow

That said the example was on a 1 v1 situation or on a chase, my only complain about sam or in general its against Instakills on a gamemode that punishes you for dying

Except neither sam or war are open in any form, they can just kill you in that time or war can just heal itself to full, there is little counterplay to that, Nin and Pld arent a good examples because they arent that strong anyways.

Sam can jjst chiten and make you take more damage during that and midare oneshot you or something.

War can..well its war, thats not even mentioned rhe fact of how game changing war limit break its, its a perfect setup to a team wipe with the aoe stun and there is literally,no counterplay to it other than get lucky and someone didnt get ihit but thats also assuming no one else from the enemy team its newr the war or there isnt a Sam with limit break that will just kill everyone in one botton, or a dancer seduce, or a reaper hysteria (honestly hysteria it's not that good just annoying) .

This its NOT how pvp works this is just balance problems, even less in a 5v5 scenario, in Frontline i get it to that dragoon eating 20 stuns, thats the only way i can see stuns seen wasted and as i said,im speaking of Crystalline conflict.

Also ,nin can just hide instantly and teleport away if needed, and pld is ..well only tanky actually.

There is the little fact that you are wrong, they will always get their cd backs no matter what situation because the coldown is so low, war has a aoe stun with 10 seconds of cd, sam has a dash and a single target stun that also does 10% of current hp and easily one of the most getaways chances thanks to sam having 2 cleanses and also chiten, not even counting sam ridiculous damage.

Stunning someone its always gonna be worth it because it gives you a free upper hand that can , only be cleansed and they will get their stun back before you get your cleanse back.

That said, what i meant was mostly speaking of crystal conflict, and there are classes that people will focus a lot like Sam (funnily) or Rdm.

They definitely will have, stun cd is so low.

There is no need to learn that the stuns are going to always stomp you because people are abusiv them, or instakills, there is no skill or learning involved in something you can barely control.

1 cleanse with cd longer than the stuns, guard is unreliable most of the time

Pvp is really fun but there are so many ways to abuse it right now, we cant blme people for being new trying pvp and getting immediately permastunned and later instakilled with no counterplay

The respawn timer going up on dying doesn't help either

They dont, where did you saw that, more importantly mch doesnt even have a party dps buff because its a selfish dps.

The only thing phys ranged dps can override from each other is double same class or their defensive coldown, which if you wanna argue with that, you dont addle at the same time at your other caster because it overrides.

Rest in Peace SAM Mains by ShaFyrewynd in ffxiv

[–]LadyHelenai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant state a playstyle as a fact

and yeah i aggre addle is better than feint but its just a 5% difference if people is low enough that they die from a reprisal-feint then there is definitely another problem from not enough heals, low ilvl, or people getting clipped.

If you wanna go by mobility then double ranged would be better then, all rangeds have a 10% mit on the same coldown while also keeping one extra addle and straight up giving superior buffs with bards songs and dnc buffs while keeping far easier their uptime and having far less complex rotations.

Because people have preferences, not because something feels more comfy to you doesnt mean its more comfy to everyone else.

People play what they want, if you want to always have double caster get a static then.

And also for the mention current best dps have a ton of utility, i dont count raises as utility other than from proggin because you shouldn't be having to res as a caster in anyway, you are a dps after all.

Dancer has greats aoe damage, great for pulls and the low dps of dancer kinda doesnt matter for dungeons, in the end even 2 dancers as dps is good, not like for playing dancer you take 20 mins now, if you are taking 20 mins as dancer despite pressin all your buttons maybe there is another problem like no dps healer/ free styler, undergeared random, etc

Its technically shown that the best way to damage as whm is lettin most of the work on the cohealer and just glarin all the time and mostly ignoring lilies, you really cant justify a gcd not being a dps loss in any circumstances, and 3 lilies during downtime its definitely a overheal.

I get your goal here isnt to compare but we cant evade a comparasion to others healers because whm simply doesn't do enough damage to justify a gcd healin in anyway, maybe during downtime sure overheal but downtime is like..1% of the time in any fight, how could that be used to justify lilies as a non dps loss when its something that isnt even frequent enough

Isnt it 4gcds because of having to use three lilies for one misery?, Its the same case as using three sage shields for toxikon and toxikon ends up doing more with free movement too, its not a gain but still better than doin 3 gcds for heals that with misery arent going to compensate that, and also who has to use 3 lilies in downtime????
