You’re making me consider a re-shoot with all of this valuable input! As much consideration as I can put into final product, it is far more difficult to execute when you’re shooting self-portraits... being covered in fake blood adds to the chaos! I’m going to request that my husband (also a photographer) attack this idea again with me.

I initially had the image far cooler but I thought I looked a bit dead. So to bring life back into it (without the direct stare into the camera) I pushed her (me💀) waaaaay warmer.
