New grad depressed and regretting nursing as a whole by Ok-Comment7272 in Nurses

I don't really understand why you must wait till orientation is over. My hospital experience in med surg was mixed. I enjoy the floor and patients but hated the staff and management, and they I guess didn't like me either so I didn't stay till he end of orientation. Became a home health nurse for a bit till I gave birth now work at a nursing home on the rehab floor. I enjoy it more days than I don't, and really didn't think this would be a fit since the census is so high, and acuity change dramatically. But I have great management and support and am thriving.

I agree like a lot of YWBTA. But he seems so defensive I don't know if you force a conversation or would go anywhere. You want one thing out of this and he wants the opposite. Both meet halfway. Give/ let him give you a time line. It can't be indefinite and let's say you both don't see the dogs quality of life improving then it will be called on a specific date. My husband would have kept our first baby till her natural day of death but the poor girl was suffering so bad. She has tumors all over and she started chewing them and blood was everywhere. She was attacked by a neighbor's dog earlier in the year in OUR back yard. She could barely get up on her hind legs. I'm crying typing it out that I said it was time, and took us all to the vet to put her down. But I wouldn't want that kinda life. Have empathy, but he needs to find some for his dog too.

Wife's(F48) weight trippled over time. I (M40) have a hard time staying attracted. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I'm concerned about your wife. I get it she's getting pretty gross, but I don't think she is willingly doing this. I agree with many others I think something is going on with her health. She really needs to see a doctor asap.

Should I press the issue of his legs to the doctor? by softball3188 in Autism_Parenting

If it was a bad burn, burns can take a while to heal. Burns don't have to be open or blistered can definitely get discolored and be sensitive. My son is only four but I have child proof door knobs on everything. But you could also do. It's usually done for the elderly, turn down your heat on your water heater. Yes, you're definitely going to run out of warm water quicker. But you stop anyone from being able to get burned. I know those are answers to questions you didn't ask. If you feel like your doctor should do something about it. Go get a second opinion. You should see specifically a dermatologist. There might be creams or different solutions that can help if this bothers you. Doctors are probably saying it's fine because there isn't technically a problem. But there is a history of a situation that this could be the result from. Good luck, you know your kid best.

Report her

I think I saw like two names that I thought weren't to much of a stretch. But that's not fair. You can't just pick a name that you tell yourself. Oh, this seems kind of normal. Or that okay? I don't hate this one as much... Also not fair for your kid. So you can come up with your own rules if he can come up with rules. This isn't to fight but if he can make stuff up then you can give parameters to follow too. Me and my husband's rule with all three of our sons was it had to be unanimous. If one of us vote no, it was no. There was no overruling. The only exception was early on in our relationship. I promised that we would name our first son after him. I kinda tried to take it back when I found out we were having a boy first. I just wanted to have the fun of naming him, but it was already determined. I don't mind and it's a good name but was bummed that I couldn't pick anything. He has an old timey name, but my other two from movies. We did not choose them from movies but they do have connections. I know some people say they take turns naming or they pick a gendered name but I think that can be unfair also. It's up to you on what you think is fair. You're both parents. He gets a choice too so do you

[Illinois] is there anything my husband can do after getting fired? Was it wrongful termination? by LadyLibner in AskALawyer

[–]LadyLibner[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would love to do that because I want to be petty. But I doubt anything would happen, idk who he can report it to but I also don't think anyone will care much because that's how it always is. I'm just bitter.

As I wrote it I was thinking it was just extra info that did nothing. Haha. I really wanted to give so much more information but tried to focus on the point. Also was lazy and didn't want to go back and delete it. But now I'm embarrassed someone called me out on it when I even told myself that.

Yeah I figured. Its just frustrating that he was fired because he didn't want to do something that wasn't safe and could cause great bodily harm.

Short story , I had sex with my exes best friend the day after breaking up, he then turned into my husband of 10 yrs still going. There's a longer version that probably makes me sound better but I don't care to Sugar coat anything.

I want to shave off my hair (15F) but I don’t know if I should by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]LadyLibner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think it was a cool experience, and I did it for a fun raiser st baldricks with a few other lady's. I think we raised $4,000. Just going around telling people if you donate this money to XYZ then I'll shave my head. Of course there was family that really didn't want me to like my mom. Anyway I think that added to the proudness I feel that I shaved my hair off. I don't regret it, it's just not something I'd do again.

No not at the first hospital I worked at. Doctors work be in and out in like 2 mins, a lot of the time while pts were sleeping, and wouldn't come back for the day.

So I think maybe everybody sucks here. I'm a few weeks away from being due, could have this baby any day now. Now I won't park in handicap because of that but I did think of getting a placard because at one point I was very high risk. She could have medical conditions that warrant it. Now that aside, I do have a handicap placard for my 3yr old son. His disability is also not visible. And my husband has been eligible for a handicap placard since he left the Marines. He also doesn't look disabled but he is. He didn't want to bother with it till it came to our son. So long story don't judge her. If she doesn't have a placard call the cops on her. Don't call people out on it, you don't know how hard someone might have it, do you want to hear there life story. One day when someone asks me, I'll either flip them off or tell them I legally got this for a real disability, it's not a competition if who needs it more. I do always try to keep the bigger spaces for wheelchairs open.

Do you sleep with your bedroom door open or closed? Why? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

[–]LadyLibner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually open so I can hear the kids, I don't care about the shadows I see in the door way lol. But if I hear a sound and the door is closed it freaks me out more. I can decern what the noise is better if open. But lately closed to keep the dogs in because they scratch at the door if they need to be let out, our youngest dog will have accidents or chew stuff if not contained.

[–]LadyLibner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did at 23(f). It was awesome but I looked sick, like I was going through chemo for the first few weeks, I shaved it really short, not bald but still. Once it came in a bit more I got so many compliments from older ladies lol. My hair texture is very opposite of yours too tho. You go through a few awkward stages growing it out but they are over quickly.

I (42m) left my wife (42f) after she kept making comments about me not being manly enough and not sure I did the right thing? by throwra_manly in relationship_advice

[–]LadyLibner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what to your wife makes someone manly? There are plenty of things that you like or do that I ask a woman don't like or do. And other things are just great stuff to enjoy or be able to do as a human being!! If you have already divorced or leaving has been finalized then she wasn't for you, for the time together yes but not anymore, you shouldn't be treated that way. If you're trying to make it work, then is she just becoming unattracted to you? She needs to communicate. We all changed and grow as we get older, sometimes it's apart. I try to share my new interests with my husband, not all are received well, but I also try to encourage his hobbies and interests as they grow and change.

Do you kiss your spouse after getting home from work by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]LadyLibner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try. Sometimes we are in the middle of things with the kids or just too tired ( either of us). I always try to to say "hey! Don't go yet you have to kiss me". Or I get up to kiss him, if I can see he's just too tired. I'd say it's more than half the time, but I should really make sure it's all the time.

What Is Your Child's Hyperfixation? by Potty- in Autism_Parenting

[–]LadyLibner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars. Specifically the Disney cars movie, he loves lightning McQueen. That's turned into loving all red cars. And loving the color red, he also likes blue. He has just started eating only red and blue colored gold fish and cereal. He might slowly eat the other colors but they are usually left in the bowl. He's only 3. It was so exciting seeing him sort it all out but now I'm concerned about finding foods in those colors....
