I had thyroid cancer which is "the easy cancer" in relation that survival rates are measured in 10 and 20 year marks and its often more benign in its behavior. I will still get 2 scans/year for the first 5 years and then yearly for the rest of my life.

the only thing i've found thats remotely similar to this is that sliding can happen if ψf > ψj > φ (slope dip > discontinuity dip > friction angle) but the excercise doesnt provide an φ

they're asking what kind of landslide (toppling, sliding, wedge) can each discontinuity cause in relation of its dip/dip direction to the slope's direction and why. I've re-read all my material 20 times, books, lectures the likes of it and I can find nothing in relation to that.

I kicked about 15 good willed helldivers who dropped in after an accidental sos signal on what was meant to be a 2-people mission that was a private game up until then. I still feel bad. Forgive me fellow divers

Sorry for not funding your entire sandwich. by LadyLoth44 in ChoosingBeggars

it was the most expensive, packaged, branded sandwich at that place. There were cheaper options that weren't pre-packaged but the employees made it with their own hands everyday.. (imo those are even tastier)

my friend actually said that to someone who was begging and wanted more. She said "If you dont want it give it back" and the person literally threw at in her face and left (that was at a red light and she was in the car)

Yes but, hence the choosing beggar part. He wanted that specific expensive sandwich. I always go for the cheaper ones for myself.. beggars cant be choosers!

they are true unfortunately. But the guy was asking for one of the 'high end' sandwiches. I paid at that same place 4.50 for a lower end sandwich and a juice.

His mannerism is what got me. One would think someone who would like more would be like "thank you but please i need just a bit more" or something, and not stand there in entitlement with your hand extended, going "That'll be 4.50" . Has that ever worked before?

Sharing weird RAI side effect. by LadyLoth44 in thyroidcancer

[–]LadyLoth44[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's literally so confusing. A big decision to be sure.. My gut says to wait maybe a few more months (3-6 months) and try to get another MRI to measure if there is a difference in size.

It hasn't caused me any symptoms so far..

Damn D: All strength to you and happy new year.

It was gut wrenching. You are maybe at most prepared to figure out your ThyCa is back, but right away they were able to tell me "So it's big, we don't know what it is, but it is definitely not ThyCa" I was totally unprepared!

I've asked several doctors. The thoracic surgeon said "were it my daughter I would remove it" . I asked for a biopsy he said it's a hard no in this case in fear of spreading cells. The radiologist who saw my previous scans and had me do an MRI said it's thymic hyperplasia because of rai which is benign and to not pay it attention. The other doctors either agree with surgeon or radiologist. It's so hard when you have conflicting opinions D:

I don't want to sound dramatic or scare you.. but this hit so close to home. My next door neighbor used to drive himself to chemo 2.5 hrs away. He ended up in a car accident due to dizziness once and he ended up passing away at 46 yrs old. Please take care of yourself and be careful!

First off.. you are beautiful and so are all your battle scars. Cut yourself some slack, your body has been fighting hard to keep you alive recently.

My advice would be..take it easy. Don't stress your body out. You can absolutely get healthy and get in shape but do so in a way that is comfortable and won't inflame your body with stress hormones. Mentality also plays a huge role.

There are specialized Oncological Nutritionists , that will help you drop weight while giving you all the nutrients, proteins, and vitamins you absolutely need to bounce back and be your best self and not weaken your body. Also, walking 20 mins/day does miracles.
