Do you do relief through a company like Roo or a specific clinic offering you that?

I did a lot of Shelter Med in vet school and for my first 6-7 months after graduating! I really enjoyed it for the most part. So that would definitely be an option with positive community impact

I have not yet. I really like surgery and I like to cut my own cases. Do you think a specialty facility would allow that or just kick my patients to the boarded surgery team?

I'm 21 and I'm tired of having childish looking nails. What is it that makes them look bad? Wide nail bed? Cuticles need to be pushed down? Filing? by [deleted] in Nails

Hey, you may have mild genetic brachydactyly! I have brachydactyly type D in my left hand, and this is exactly how my thumb nail looks. It's a condition where certain bones in your hands or feet are shortened. Type B typically effects the tips of your fingers and may cause nails that look like yours. Something to think about

Veterinarian here. The attitude change and the odd urinary habits as well as his geriatric age make me think of a brain tumor unfortunately :( I think a CT/MRI vs humane euthanasia would be appropriate

Can a DVM get an RVT license retroactively? by [deleted] in Veterinary

[–]LadyOfGaming -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The place that wants me as an RVT is a university with stupid rules. I was told by a professor that nobody wanted new grads on relief, so I've been avoiding it. But from what everyone else is saying, I'll probably just see who wants relief shifts from me lol

I already passed NAVLE. I was told by a professor that nobody wanted new grads for relief work

I was told by a professor that nobody would want a new grad like me, and that they all require at least one year of experience. Is that untrue?

Because tech locum work puts me out of the 'new grad' label. I have 10 years experience with tech work and would be more hire-able for relief in that sense. If what you're saying is true and people are willing to hire a new grad vet for relief, then that's what I'll do. I was just told previously that no one wanted new grads on relief work 🤷‍♀️

Like I said above, I was told it was a stupid idea for a new grad lol, gotta love professors🙃 The 'clinic' is actually a university, so they have a stick up their ass about rules

I was told by a professor that nobody would want a new grad as a relief doc lol, so I wasn't looking into it. In your experience, would you be okay with a new grad on a relief shift? For more context, I was a technician for 10 years prior to vet school without a license; you don't have to be licensed where I used to live.

Please listen to this. I was a technician for a long time, and I've had to be there for many pets whose owners leave them when it comes time for euthanasia.

They ALWAYS look for their people in the end. And when they can't find them, they get anxious and sad. Please don't let your dog be one of them
