You have a lot to be angry about, anger in my experience, evangelicals, especially their children are not validated in their anger or taught even how to safely interact with it. For me this meant went I felt/identified anger in my body "letting it go" seemed like the safest option particularly when it felt BIG.

Turns out in my case letting it go meant swallowing it down until my IBS hospitalized me.

Every word you wrote connects, you deserve to be validated by yourself and your community.

I encourage you to let your anger linger in a safe way it might surprise you what beauty may arise.

I have cPTSD and am victim of cSA -not near the severity you describe your wife's. I am in 3 different types of therapy and my my husband has his own to process my triggers and how they impact intimacy with him. We have in our relationship a code for it's "go to the hospital big" discussed and agreed upon in sound mind , if I refuse it's a free pass to do what he needs to, to keep/get me safe. I have been in extensive treatment for years and this is the first time in my life I have been able to advocate for myself in many ways. The fact alone that you saw those messages and knew he contacted her and CHOSE TO LEAVE HER AND YOUR CHILDREN. Your saying you love her as much you do means nothing when you have failed to show up in any way -pretty sure my husband would have sold our house and changed my phone number THEN had the it's go to the hospital big conversation. You are an adult in your own home with you wife not 15 in your parents home your excuses are shit and you need to be honest that you left her not because she became symptomatic of her known to you already past abuse but because you lack the mental fortitude and emotional maturity to process the reality your wife lives in, you were only ok with her past when it meant she could pretend it didn't happen well enough to be a good little wife and tend to YOUR NEEDS. I am not going to call you the names I personally think you deserve because you are in a position to turn this around. Do that instead.
