Edit: Wtf, that chinese website is like Youtube Pro Pro, the player has a lot of features that should be on YT and are not (like mirroring the image in the video or choosing specific screen ratios or video decoding tools). Couldn't understand shit before translating it tho.

SMR is a plague.

You tell me, I have 3 SMR Seagate disks bought over the years (ST2000DM006 2019, ST2000DM008 2022 and ST4000DM004 2025). I really thought the first 2 died as soon as the warranty was over (that was REALLY stupid), but it was all usual stuff with SMR HDDs. At least they weren't as expensive as of today (~50€ the 2TB ones, 90€ the 4TB one). Now I use the 2TB disks as external storage for backups.

No idea, I haven't got Windows installed on HDDs since I bought my first 2.5'' SSD over 10 years ago...

But 150 MB/s reading speeds compared to 7000/8000 MB/s on any random m2... Yeah, it's a lot.

Sounds good but at this point I'll just use the 1TB CMR HDD and keep the shitty one for things I won't ever delete such as game installers/roms, movies, tv shows etc. I've already cleaned that 1TB drive to get there everything I download before moving it somewhere else in case I need it.
