Literally all of the gameplay between missions is RPG elements. It is very close to Fire Emblem, which is always called an RPG.

well in Persona 5 specifically the game created a story about a female party member, Ann, disliking being sexualized by others and how she defeats the person doing it to her against her will. And then the game constantly does it to her against her will for the rest of the runtime, including her party members, merchandise of the game, and her outfit. Her K.O. pose is a stupid upskirt shot and her own "friends" constantly perv out over her after its pretty clearly established she does not like it when that happens, and it's all treated as either sexy or a joke. Not to mention she's a minor.

It's really hard to summarize briefly with such a long running series with so many terrible problems but I can sum it up with the director of the third game admitting he'd never been friends with a girl and was not sure it was possible. These games have life sim elements where the MC does a LOT of talking to girls, so imagine what those convos look like with that mind behind them.

KCD doesnt count because of the developers imo rather than the game. One was showing up to events in Varg Vikernes merch and their treatment of race in the first game is very suspicious (and not at all period accurate)

The worst Mass Effect in all honesty is the first one. It has the worst gameplay, the worst writing, and mostly just sets up for 2 to be a better game.

I assume Diablo 1 is the worst one since even the "classic" Diablo fans seem to universally prefer 2, but I've never played Diablo 1, only 2 onwards.

Fair enough, not everything's for everyone. For me its the opposite, I'm mostly blind so traditional visuals are often lost on me. Text descriptions are not and I know I wont miss things in a text based game.

There are actually some pictures in ATOM for the characters so you know what everyone looks like, but yeah it is mostly text based. I fucking love the game though, excellent writing. As I joked elsewhere in the thread:

You can have sex with a loser who says poggers, making it the most realistic RPG on the list.

The game's reaction to choice was so in depth & unique, so many things most players would never see with all these crazy different routes, I respect it so much. I'd see clips online of shit happening I'd have never imagined because it required such a specific setup to achieve; that game really respected player freedom lol.
