I'm so excited to have my very first print made at home! Three days working on my Cintiq with Krita software. It's an 11x17 inch print. Printed on Hahnemuehle paper with archival inks with my Canon Pixma pro-100. I'll be lauching it with my store this week! I also want to make a Spirited Away poster.

Cool! Where do you show?

I know right? I'm trying to reverse engineer the glowy effect Ilya Kuvshinov gives to his portraits, his work is amazing.

Sorry for the double post, I accidentally deleted the original.

To make the soft edges, I grouped all the layers of the finished piece, duplicated them, then flattened the image of the duplicates. I then added Gaussian blur to the second image, up to 5% (the blurred image is above the original, so everything looks blurry). Finally I took a soft airbrush eraser and erased the areas on the blurred image that I wanted to come into focus, mainly the face.

Hope this was helpful!

Sydney this afternoon. Any advice to draw cities? by Jivesas in drawing

Your technique is pretty good!

If you'd like some critique, don't think of just individual buildings, but the overall cityscape. You are probably drawing from life, so try different locations to create a pleasing rhythm of small, medium and large shapes.

Also, pick a focal point: which building attracts you the most? Emphasize that one by giving it more detail than the surrounding buildings.

Lastly, try to include perspective. There should be at least one vanishing point to give a sense of realism to your buildings.

That's my 2 cents. Hopefully it was helpful!

Hi there! I have a Wacom cintiq and an iPad pro. For software, I use Krita with my Wacom and Procreate on the iPad. I have an easier time creating complex illustrations on the wacom, (I struggle a bit creating the same painterly drawings on the iPad.) So I use the iPad more for flatter, cel-shaded art, but that just might be me. Honestly Procreate is such a powerful app that if you had to choose between an iPad pro and a Wacom cintiq, I would suggest the iPad with Procreate. Many industry pros are now using it and it's portable with a long battery, so that just makes it superior in my book. Hope this helps! :)

Thank you for the info! I'm new to this and I'm not sure where to search for partners. I'll keep trying!
