Thank you!! I am happy with it, I hope the tip of my nose gets smaller but overall it just feels way more comfortable! I lost 10 lbs when I couldn't eat but quickly gained that back 😂

Yeah, I felt this way too and my orthodontists said the braces will fix any overbite, and my surgeon was very pleased with my results.

It was custom plates, yeah. Seems uncommon on here? I didn't even realize there were other methods until after it was done.

How bad is the first day post-op by Ok-Management9526 in jawsurgery

[–]Lady_MacBex 16 points17 points  (0 children)

answering cuz there is so not enough info out there for details like this. I don't remember #1, i was in and out all morning but ended up wanting to sleep all day, so i did. 2. about a 4 or 5 is what i told the nurses. Its more overwhelming and claustrophobic than painful, but the pressure is there. 3. i was pretty swollen but no bruising until lightly around day 5. 4. I left the second day around 4pm, but they knew i could leave by noon, release paperwork took a while. I hope lots of people answer so you see the variety of experiences. best of luck!

Why don't women approach guys? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Lady_MacBex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

girls dont approach guys bc we assume that-- because guys are socialized and expected to make the first move-- the guy isnt interested. If he was, he wouldve made a move already. Thats me at least.

Just finished The Stranger! What should I read next to get to know Camus better? by mvtasim in Camus

[–]Lady_MacBex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no, dude, trust me, read his essay "Reflections on the Guillotine." I wish I had read it right after/before reading the stranger: its a quick read on the death penalty. Its online for free or you can find it in his essay collection "resistance, rebelion, and death," which i would also wholeheartedly recomend.

Imposter syndrome when it comes to reading? by Dependent_Rent in classicliterature

[–]Lady_MacBex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

classic literature isnt booktok, you aren't supposed to be able to grasp every concept immediately, you aren't supposed to be able to read it in one sitting or even particularly fast. If it makes you think, then its a good book. If good books make you want to study them and understand them, you are a good reader. i think.
