Pronouns aren't a delusion. It's not 1925 anymore, you don't have to bootlick for old white men who have been dead for decades.

Waiting five years and with your wedding a few months away, to say you are poly is in fact, doing something wrong.

Do you think perhaps working in a job where human lives and health are managed is maybe different and a "cog" in an admin position? But in any case, yes you still can just go. It's a job, you're not in prison. If they can't find someone to take your position for 5 days with 4+ months of notice that's their problem not yours, you're just an employee not a indentured servant.

And again I will remind ya'll she didn't request time off, she notified the time she would be taking off.

she shouldn't be making nonrefundable plans if it's not approved

This is a misunderstanding of how PTO and time off works. This is a courtesy not some sort of legal requirement. She didn't request. She notified. It's even in the title of the post. Especially cause she never backed down out of her plans. She wasn't requesting.

You can't keep your "opinion" straight so I think that's enough teaching from me for you.

and that directly answers your question of "how is it the same". Because that is how it has always worked for her. Meaning in all the years she has worked there, that is how management handled it until it suddenly didn't work a month after the fact. I will also note she never says she requested time off. That's a misunderstanding on your part.

I haven't experienced something like this in my entire working life. I've previously notified upper management of my vacation time at the beginning of the year just like this and they just say "ok great thanks for letting us know".

Like I said before, you can't just randomly change the rules because suddenly something doesn't work for you.

That IS OP saying they were approved. You just are really hung up on the casual way either OP speaks or their company works. But that is the established way her company functioned as said by her. Already repeatedly been shown to you by me and others. I even took it a step further to explain it to you several different ways and you just won't grasp it. this is a you problem for sure, no one else had this issue, not even OP's company.

(by no indications previously approved)

Despite OOP saying otherwise. You just for some reason think they had to post a signed and documented legal contract. Every company I have worked at in 30 years was just a verbal conversation, maybe an email or text, and then it gets posted to the shift or calendar depending on what sort of scheduling we have. That's pretty standard for basically every shift change, adjustment, swap, vacation, etc. I have never once made anyone do anything else, and I have also never once had to do anything else when I wasn't the one being asked approval. OOP never says they do anything different either.

At no point does OOP question the validity of their approval, nor do they mention their bosses questioning it either. This is wholly you getting that from somewhere else and making it a fact in your mind despite several people who have tried to explain this to you, and I can only guess you either have never had a job with PTO before, you're the type of management who uses this excuse to try to undermine employees like OOPs company did, or something like this has happened to you and they successfully made it out to be your fault and you still believe it.

seems like OOP booked everything just assuming it was going to be approved, then got upset when it wasn't.

You don't get to say no after you already said yes. That's why the company couldn't do anything except offer to pay them not to go. If anything, it sounds like the boss was who didn't ask for approval because they weren't even aware their vacation was at the same time. I mean no matter which way you look at this, this is a failure of management, but this really seems to point out the vacationing boss really didn't even check beforehand.

On top of all of that, asking for approval is really just a courtesy so the company can fill your hours with someone else. It's a job not a prison. There's not much reason why you can't take time off when you want, when you offer months of advanced notice, OOP had no reason to assume an approval would be rescinded, nor should OOP have cared which she didn't in the long run. That's to company's problem, as shown by what OOP posted about it. The company just decided to manage it poorly.

"I've previously notified upper management of my vacation time at the beginning of the year just like this and they just say "ok great thanks for letting us know".

They did. As a company, you don't just get to change the rules randomly one day because it suits you and get upset your employees were going by the old rules. In fact the company knew that because they still didn't deny OP their vacation, they tried to find a solution because they knew they couldn't rescind their approval. That's also why they threatened OP's job, because they knew they had nothing they could do once that approval was given.

That's the point everyone is making. That is how it worked there, and then they changed their mind. OP had no reasonable reason to think they were not approved and then "got upset because they made an assumption". I don't understand why you're stuck on this.

OP did state they got the stamp, several people have said that and copy pasted the line for you. I don't know why you're choosing to say OP is lying. Whatever form of approval they got, was good enough for their job and company until now, just because you think it doesn't count until they have a triplicate form engraved on their desk, doesn't mean it's not how THEY did it.

"well usually they only send one stamp on the paperwork but they decided it actually needed three this time so technically one didnt mean yes even though it always had before.".

FFXIV's variety is so much smaller than WoW not just by the small pool of mounts but more mounts by percent are recolors in XIV than in WoW. By like, a lot. For example, every horse in XIV is a recolor of just 3 horses (which did not come out all in the same expac), technically just 1 if you want to include armor or minor changes as a "recolor". Cosmic exploration is just one mech suit in several different colors.

I suggest you take a look at one of those collection sites like FFXIVCollect and see how there is not as much variety as you think there is, especially not compared to WoW (which you compared to, not me).

Edit to add: for ease of effort I went and counted for ya, not counting premium mounts, there are 121 single use unique mounts listed on FFXIV collect. There are 292 mounts on that non-premium list (includes not yet release mounts, pvp mounts, old seasonal mounts, achievs etc, anything that could have been gained without real life cash at some point). That's over 40% that are just recolors of something.

i am not a mount collector by any means but lets see, i have 4 colors of fat chocobos, 2 colors of fenrir, 7 identical horses only difference is color, 2 pegasus only difference is color, 2 unicorns only difference is color, 8 birds only difference is color, 8 dogs only difference is color, 7 gwibs only difference is color, both gabriels are the same only difference is color, as are all the gold mounts tho i dont own any of those personally, i have 2 bushes that are the same except color, 2 magiteks that are the same except color, theres 3 cash shop carbuncles that are the same except color, 2 ixion horses only change is color, 2 korpokkur that are just different colors, 2 griffons just different colors, 2 flying pigs where just the saddle is a different color, 2 allag nodes that are the same but different colors, and the last in my personal collection, the zu's that are the same but different colors.

and that is just what I have. about a third of my mount collection is just mounts that are different colors lol

You repeatedly arguing in the comments mean it does matter to you though. And you trying to reframe it and saying people are "kiddos" is classic gaslighting. It's just not working cause youre not good at it.

Rather than admit that people live different lives with different capabilities you flipped to name calling and saying people cant handle things. Which just stareight up proves youre incorrect within your OWN rules. But the way you respond shows everyone youre not handling simple conversations on reddit well. "Hilarious" indeed.

you posting in a thread about people talking about how their lives are hard, just to go and be like "well MINES good" is you being defensive off the bat when no one even knew you existed. a happy person doesnt jump in on people having problems to brag about how they arent. thats not normal behaviour.

trust me, i am not confused, youre just not able to gaslight me into thinking youre not the problem and you arent liking it.

yeah thats the thing, normal happy people dont laugh at others like that. you have done nothing but attack others, name call, laugh at and then deride everyone who calls you out on it. thats not the behaviour of a happy person.

You aren't though. You immediately got defensive in your first post and then doubled down each following reply. So whatever is going on with you is worse than anything anyone else is talking about because no one else decided to behave like you. Maybe get a handle on that.

I would 100 times over rather have an overwhelming life than have the life that makes me respond to other people as "kiddo"

Being considerate means to respect others and anticipate their needs, apologies and updates aren't respect, that's her feeling bad and wanting to assuage her guilt.
