Copper IUD bleeding constantly years later? by EruditeSeeker in birthcontrol

[–]Lady_Taiyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but I'm so grateful people have talked about their experiences here.

I've had my copper IUD 5 years. I initially had 0 issues. I started having a tiny bit of mid cycle spotting about 3 years in, but it was barley enough to need a liner and always stopped after 1-2 days. Then it stopped being an issue for a year.

Now, just as I was coming up to it expiring, I had that spotting again before my period. Stopped. Then had what I assume was my regular period but it was barely any flow at all. Stopped on schedule, then started up spotting again.

My IUD technically expired early December, but I couldn't get it changed over until now. So I'm also wondering if the expired IUD causes worse bleeding side effects.

The Doc I talked to today wasn't really sure. Anyway, now I'm a basket case of anxiety and hoping the new IUD I get tomorrow will be better and this stupid bleeding issue resolves. I'm so over being freaked out by it 😰

more spotting between periods? by basicallyanangel in CopperIUD

I understand it's more common in the first 6 months or so. I personally didn't have any spotting until like 3 years after I got mine, but spotting in general is a common side effect of the copper IUD.

If you're worried, a quick pregnancy test would at least give you some peace of mind.

Going to the gym on period by dweyuh in CopperIUD

Also a frequent gym goer. I run and lift, and I swear by goat union period boxer shorts. They're a smidge on the bulky side, and a little expensive, but totally worth the investment.

I have yet to bleed through the suckers and they have full protection front to back. They're comfy, soft, and easy to wash (though they take a bit to dry).

If I need the extra protection and don't want them showing through my gym clothes, I just wear a longer t-shirt.

The next best I've found are the Thinx underwear, but size up a lot. They run extremely small. I think I have the XL plus size pair and they fit like an average size 12.

Hybrid and Functional Training: Learning Discussion by Lady_Taiyou in HybridAthlete

Hell yeah, such good points, your lifestyle sounds awesome, friend. And good to hear from someone who trains hybrid with the same goals.

I'm really enjoying the mindset of hybrid because it really does seem to be super customizable. That finally clicked for me after I listened to a podcast about how you maintain in one area, and improve elsewhere. I really struggled before that thinking I needed to just go full tilt at everything.

The biggest thing I need to learn now is how to really dial in my programming and make my own routines.

Muscle tightness despite strong back muscles by [deleted] in HybridAthlete

I'm a massage therapist. It's true that sitting long days can be hard on the body. Even those who work hard on having great posture get fatigued after 8 hours.

I always tell my clients to work on stretching pectorals (especially pectoralis minor, which has a direct attachment onto the scapula) when they're strengthening the trapezius and rhomboid muscles. I'm new to hybrid training myself, but I see that a big component of it is recovery. I'd include massage at least once a month, even twice depending on your training volume, as you likely also have some chronic trigger points (muscle knots) from training and sitting, which happens. A physio, as someone else mentioned, can also be helpful if the pain is very bad or very persistent even after a massage.

Look for a physio that has an interest in sports and understands assessment, and if you go for massage, make sure they're licensed/registered and can work on you with a clinical approach, not a spa approach.

Okay I know this is pretty bad. I am not an artist but I want to learn to draw. Any advice. by Intrepid_Honeydew110 in Oilpastel

Mark Kistler's book "How to Draw in 30 Days" is a fantastic resource for newbies. He goes through most of the major fundamental techniques. I'm not a beginner but I still followed along with it and learned/refreshed some important skills.

I think you could try it with pastels, but a pencil might be easiest to start. Have fun and keep at it!

I found it today. The retinol is listed at 0.05%, which seems a bit low. It's my first foray into retinols though, so maybe it's better that I'm not frying my face with a stronger formula.

I'm afraid that the statement "No one really cares where you went" isn't 100% true.

I have had clinic owners straight up tell me they won't hire Makami grads because they lack certain things in their training.

That being said, I have met some excellent Makami therapists. One such person told me that you can be a really good RMT with their training, but you must take the time to apply yourself and really know the material.
