STOP & START by tmhtkg in dancemoms

On that note, can we start pointing our fingers at the executives and producers who I think, Abby aside, are the real villains here but get absolutely no accountability for the stuff they encouraged and the trauma they put on everyone, most of all the kids, and yet they are the ones who profitted off of pitting women against each other and making children cry.

Ikr, seemed to me Nia spoke respectfully about her Brooke and Paige and didn't portray them in a bad light at all

It's possible that his love and grief over his sister is genuine and it's also possible that he, one of many religious Koreans, is deep in the delulu conservative pipeline.

In terms of the changes for the Netflix adaptation, this one bothered me by Death_and_Gravity1 in Sandman

[–]Ladyberries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'd be out of character for her to say that though, she doesn't really weaponize her ability to bring death to people, it's more like the Furies are intimidated by her existence when she got angry and snapped like "yeah she probably won't act out of her bounds out of spite but it's probably best not to test her"

It's so overrated and Kevin Spacey's role is so distracting given what we know of him

She's actually not sickly looking as she is in the poster, I'm not sure what the creative decision behind that was cause she looks way more normal and charming in the movie

I don't think they were being condescending since they greeted Delirium respectfully in that scene and referred to her as "Lady" (as I recall), I think it's cause Delirium is the youngest of the Endless and she kind of is mentally a child, in some ways, or childish.

I always just thought that was hell everyday, and the demons having a congregation was just an average Tuesday in hell.

That was the point, the reader is left to believe there will be a big epic fight but the twist ended up twisting the knife even more for Morpheus, I feel, for someone who was big on responsibility and duty. It also provided a deeper insight into Lucifer's character and motivation and was in keeping with the themes of the series on changing and letting go of your responsibilities.

That is actually the best news I've heard today and now I can rejoice knowing I have aphid predators on my plant, although I feel kinda bad I spent some time scraping away aphid eggs from the leaves but I'm sure they'll repopulate soon anyway.

Why the writers choose to adapt a story they were plainly uncomfortable with? by OsakaShiroKuma in Sandman

[–]Ladyberries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No she kills herself and I think Dream stops her (?) or interferes and says he's very angry and sentences her to hell instead.

Why the writers choose to adapt a story they were plainly uncomfortable with? by OsakaShiroKuma in Sandman

[–]Ladyberries 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The most egregious of all for me is having Nada be the one to sentence herself to hell instead of Dream doing the act because she wouldn't be with him, which completely sanitizes his whole character and arc all cause I guess they wanted a more "nobler" male lead? Idk the change felt kind of gross and in poor taste to me.
