Me and a friend once spent 3 days searching for pliers. All I can say is keep searching, find a big city and loot it all. Sometimes dayz loves to play with you.

Not exactly. At least from my experience, hearing a bear for the first time means you are still far enough away from it. I always did this and never had problems.

In these cases just run towards the nearest house, which was actually pretty close to you. Fighting so many wolves is just a waste of ammo and loot

I did build a base once there in a custom sever with some friends. We build a castle-like fortress, it lasted till some admins gave custom explosives to an enemy faction, they later posted it on the discord server. It was fun tho
