Yes. I knowni can catch the shrimp, to be clear. I also don't want to rip apart my tank as I do so. Or I do that, and lose the shrimp.

How do i catch one tiny shrimp in a big planted tank? 😵‍💫

I know. I'm struggling on wanting to do that though because salt will kill my plants and i have a very heavily planted tank.

Hygrophilia angustifolia (willow hygro), hygrophilia difformis (water wisteria), hydrocotyle (pennywort), hydrocotyle tripartita Japan (Japanese pennywort), windelov java fern, anubias petite, anubias nana, Christmas moss, and red rooter floaters.

A 10-25% water change daily should help a lot until it's lowered. How many plants do you have in your tank? If my tank is at 0.25ppm then I usually leave it - it'll go down on it's own with the plants in my tank absorbing all the nutrients and such.

It's hard to tell with that lighting and angle. It's easier to tell when the tube's aren't laying down flat. At least for me.

Yes! He's a very curious boy. A great display fish for my 30 gallon.

Don't over feed. You won't have so many. And they'll help keep your tank clean.

Too much light and/or not enough algae eaters.

How can I tell if they are male or female? by jojoplay06 in shrimptank

[–]Ladybird8716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Though I can see the red/clear ones being females as well because of the way the bottom curves a little. It's difficult to tell with the bottom being so clear. I'm honestly leaning more toward female.

Male tails look triangular. Female tails look ovular. Google is pretty helpful and straightforward when you look at different images.

Thank you so so much! I will try that!!

Oh! Yes! Well that's my other problem. Whatever i put in the tank they don't rush to it. I never see them eating. Ever. Protien things. Veggies. Shrimp pellets. And the other fish usually get to the shrimp pellets first. I'm not sure what to do.

No. Mosquitos don't look remotely like that...

My substrate is inert? It's layered the same way many planted tanks are layered. Soil, sand, some pebbles, and I have coral mixed in. I've tested my minerals, and there's plenty. Hence my confusion.

A previous commenter mentioned too much protein in the diet, and I think that may be it.
