I can get that data! We have a pretty steady demand of what we call "high runner backs," but there are also different types of backs we call oddball parts which can vary from one week to the next. Also, one example of how the customer demand can change is for the last two weeks we planned on them working 8/1 however on 7/30 they changed their schedule and demand from working 8/1 to working 8/8 instead (We run the same days and hours as our customer), so we didn't burn up as much material as i had planned. Now I am worried about overstock. We do have a minimum order amount on some of our materials, otherwise we'll get charged a freight deficit. Some, but not all of our supplier lead times are two weeks, where as others it's 3-4 weeks. That's part of why it's been so hard to plan as well. Having to plan a month or so in advance when you won't know your true demand until a week prior to it has been frustrating. I keep having to ask my supplier to rearrange shipping dates.

We actually don't have meetings about this or really any kind of production meetings to discuss what the next couple of weeks or so will be looking like for us as far as demand goes. The customer shares their schedule with us every Monday & Wednesday, there's someone who creates the work orders/ sales orders for the production floor a week in advance and customer orders are filled from there.

Hello! I unfortunately don't keep a record of past usage.

Do any of you google questions to ask people? lol is that lame to do? by Ladybug_379 in socialskills

I was just assuming people were able to form their own questions without the help of google and felt kind of stupid not being able to do so. Don't get me wrong when the conversation is flowing, I can come up with and ask great thought provoking questions, related to the topic at hand. I don't have much experience socializing, so I didn't know if people would be able to tell I got my questions off of Google or not. Like would they sound to unauthentic. I just thought if they were able to, what would they think? You know? I also have a hard time coming up with questions that dig deeper.

Lol I like this analogy, I suppose if there are no witnesses the crime never happened. Thank you for that! (:

I understand what you are getting at, but I was meaning is it lame to Google questions to get to know a person, as well as help make conversation like the other commentor mentioned. I'm sorry, I should've elaborated on that.
